Would like if there was an undo/redo button. ### 2/5 — So Dissapointing *2025-03-09* This was one of my most used apps. Some of the absolute best patches in the App Store. Nearly every project I worked on had an instance of this app. Since these new developers took over for AudioKit this synth doesn’t open in any of my projects. Whether it be GarageBand, Logic, or Cubasis. No amount of updates or deleting and reinstalling has helped. That’s not what I signed up for when I first purchased it. This is a terrible implementation of the sub concept. This is not an evolving product, its features are already set. Doesn’t hold the Audio Unit patch setting and various parameter settings inside of GarageBand (can’t speak for other DAWs). Open GB up having been happy with the patch/adjustments and Digitalism says ‘welcome’ in the patch readout…tap on that, it comes up with the CORRECT patch, so you try hitting the GB ‘play’ arrow, still no sound…forces you to change the patch, LOSE ALL SETTINGS and then return to your patch! It’s a pfaff, users will just use something else - can you imagine if ALL 32 instruments in GarageBand did this?! Put the other way around, I wouldn’t dare make an entire song with Digitalism alone that would be about 160 extra taps every time just to get this AudioKit offering to make its sounds! Come on, replace this Audio Unit or fix it, pretty please. ### 3/5 — PLEASE RELEASE FOR COMPUTER *2024-02-03* I LOVEEEEE using these sounds in my beats, but till now I was using garageband and since then, I have switched to logic pro on my new laptop. I was really really disappointed to find out that this was only available for mobile projects. So that also means I can’t transfer some of my beats without having to use a synthesizer to try and recreate the sound (which is painfully tedious and it doesn’t come out right) but if I was able to download this for logic, I would have given this 5 stars ### 1/5 — Great sounds, just unusable *2024-01-22* I’ve had this plugin for quite a while, and every time I’ve added it to a project, after closing down the project and reopening it, I get nothing from this. I really like the sounds it has but it’s like using a kids keyboard that doesn’t save anything once it’s powered down. It’s really disappointing since every other synth they make is amazing. Just wish this one was actually usable. ### 2/5 — Where'd the audio go? *2024-01-09* This would be a fantastic app as it has some setiously awesome sounds within but when I close Garageband and come back to the song, the tracks I recorded with the app still appear but there is no audio. I thought the developer said the state-saving issue was fixed? However, I see it's not been updated in a year so has the app been abandoned? Is there a fix? Please respond so I'll know whether to delete the app. ### 1/5 — Does not keep the preset selected *2023-11-12* I do this with all AudioKit apps (because it seems to be primarily these that have the problem). Choose in GarageBand, Record some notes, close GarageBand, then reopen GarageBand to see if the sound is the same as when I closed the App. This one fails that test. In this case, when you open the song and press play, NO audio plays. So, if you plan to use this in GarageBand as an AUV instrument, don’t bother, you can’t use it that way. ### 4/5 — Sounds Good *2023-01-22* But crashes at times. Not very reliable, which is the point of a synth, to be reliable. Oh, and I really don’t appreciate the political anti police messages hidden in presets as easter eggs. ### 3/5 — Mostly good but… *2022-12-13* Inferior to the earlier D1 in every way, aside from the fact that D1 won’t work in auv3, despite advertising as such. The D1 is still packed with a variety of sounds so wonderful that I’ve learned to live with the lack of auv3. But this app doesn’t have the rich diversity of sounds that the D1 does. That’s not to say it doesn’t have some beautiful presets, but for those of us who’d rather not twiddle knobs all day it does feel sadly lacking in comparison. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — iPadOS 26.2.1 - GarageBand blocked from running! *2026-02-09* ANY SONG WITH THIS AUDIO UNIT IN IT, CANNOT BE OPENED, NOR EVEN A STEREO FILE OUTPUT! So nobody would be advised to use it, obviously. GarageBand crashes at exactly the point it would normally enter the song editor. I have sent this fault to the author/dev Audiobus Pty , by email they gave here in response. These are the most-regretted Audio Units on my iPad Pro M1. Now in 2026 along with any other issues that OS brings - plenty - GB simply states ‘Digitalism not on your ipad…’ And so despite being present in the list of instruments, with a MIDI track there, there’s nothing going to sound. Absolute amazing sounding presets Absolutely horrific and unacceptable subscription model. Bummer that the app will never get the love it should because of the stupid subscription model- it's still a 5 star app though and they feature Mark Hupkins presets which are really fricken good.
