## What is LeaderBooks?

Introducing LeaderBooks, the app for Michael Hyatt’s monthly book club for leaders. 

Join thousands of growth-minded leaders accelerating their professional development through consistent reading.

HERE’S HOW LEADERBOOKS WORKS:

1. Curated book selections for leaders. 
Ten days before the start of the month, you’ll get a special notification about what book has been selected for the month. We will give you an introduction of the book, and you’ll have the links to buy it in your preferred format.

2. Executive summaries to deepen your understanding.
On that day, you’ll also receive a digital version of our Activation Guide, which contains to simple-to-follow reading plan, executive summaries, and questions for deep comprehension. The Activation Guide will come in editable PDF and Evernote format, so you can choose how you complete it and store it.

3. Read and engage with the community.
On the first day of the month, we start our guided reading experience. Each day there will be a new post in the app about that day’s big idea and questions from the Activation Guide. With the reading plan, you should have plenty of time to finish the book.

4. Translate your new knowledge into action steps.
At the end of the month, we’ll guide you through completing our InSIGHTS framework so you can retain everything you learned and turn them into action steps. And finally, we’ll send you off with related resources to continue your growth.

### 1/5 — 2nd Click Menu Crash

The app on my iPhone and iPad Pro crashes every time I make a second selection in the menu. In other words, if I click on Books only, I have no problem. But if I then click on another menu item like Account, then the app crashes.

I have read more in this program than in the previous five years combined. The curated list of books are interesting and relevant. The guide provided helps me dive deeper into the book and helps me apply the principles. The mobile app is a great feature as well and helps me consistently read daily and track my progress. I recommend this program to anyone committed to personal and professional development.

I like the concept but I can not load the Evernote or pdf files from any mobile device.  After about three tries the app crashes.  All of my system and apps are updated.

The Leaderbooks experience is soooo much better now and has me way more excited after seeing everything you added for the September and October books inside the app. I’ve been a member the last couple of years since the older Leaderbox version of this service. Keep it up! The key points that have been added to each month if you didn’t read the book or if you just simply want to revisit the key takeaways is GOLD. The detailed descriptions describing how to bring each insight to life is so great!!! Really like the quotes that I can download and share on social media too. The app is so much more engaging and fun to visit now again and again. I’ll be recommending this much more frequently to friends and colleagues because of all these brilliant updates. So valuable that through the app I can reference any book from the past months and all the insights, interviews, etc. Hope ability to look back at past books and insights is always offered. This is an Incredibly beneficial service now, you’ve nailed it. Wow! Keep it up and thank you so much! 

One request — id love to see the same updates/enhancements made to all the older books beginning with the first book after relaunch “digital minimalism”

I like that I can read excellent material and dialogue with others about the topics. The LeaderBooks guides add significant value to books, conversations, and learning

No actual app functionality added. No way to star conversations, flag particular posts. If you want to get to an older post, you have to scroll down each time. For example, say you’re late to reading a book, and you are going to start on Day 1, but the posts are on day 15, you have scroll down starting at 15 all the way down to 1, which can be a lot of finger swipes. There’s no way to just jump to 1. And you’ll have to do that each day they keep posting, because you’ll always be behind since you started late.

Similarly, if you get involved in a discussion on a particular day, once more posts are added at the top, in order to continue the conversation on a previous day, you’ll have to keep scrolling down, remember which day a particular thread is on, find the entry, click “discuss”, then scroll again to hunt for the thread you want to continue.

Apps have better ways to do this. This app essentially presents the website, where you’d use a mouse and have larger screen real estate.

There are redundant UI elements reminiscent of the website as well: the ‘hamburger’ option on the top right presents the same menu option as the whole bottom row of the app, just with an additional click, which is pointless. Why waste screen estate with the bottom row like that? Because that’s how the webpage is laid out.

Search. I looked for a unique word in a comment on an old entry, “beta”, and found zero hits when using search. I then used it to find “clarity”, it found the main entries for the book all right, but then presents the results by showing nearly the exact same layout as the main page, so each hit gets a huge amount of space between each hit. This results in nearly the same amount of scrolling as if I hadn’t bothered with the search. So, I’m not sure what search is even for, or what use case it is meant to answer.

I give this two stars, 1 for just existing, and 1 for making the content from the website slightly easier to use than just going through Safari.

Developers, I would also love to see a method for reporting this ^ and bugs without using the App Store review.

Last, it would change my review if you all had a roadmap visible somewhere so we’d know how much what we have today is just simply a starting point, or as good as it’s going to get.
