Very pleased. Good, succinct content. *2023-05-03* I am beginning, like it very much so far, but… really wish the text was a little larger. For individuals with visual impairments, slightly larger text and/or a font that includes slightly more spacing can improve the reading comprehension experience because the reader can focus on cognitive fluency processing and not visual accuracy. However, other than that I am very much enjoying the app. I particularly like the glossary explanations on the genres. This supports a better close read analysis of the work and putting the visual elements in perspective. I also like the flash card format. This format keeps the content delivery dynamic and engaging. I am just getting started with this app. Compared to the other art learning apps, this one is more academic feeling, which is what I was looking for to assist me in my studies and my workshop teaching and learning. One little thing though: in the overview of Michelangelo two paintings: „Donna alla Finestra“ and „Ritratto di Marcelina“ are from Michel Angelo Pittatore from the 19th century. It would be great if they could be removed :) Otherwise an amazing app to learn about art history! ### 5/5 — Art History Buff *2021-09-11* I took AP Art History 8 yrs ago. I wanted a refresher without having to take an actual course. This app is wonderful! I love the set up and the way the information is displayed. Such great quality! I have regained so much information about Art and I feel at ease learning about it. I take a few minutes every day to go through the app and there are times when I just keep going. Very fun and interactive way to learn or refresh your art history knowledge. I would recommend this to any one studying for the AP Art History exam or homeschoolers. Obviously, the developer spent a great deal of time and thought in the creation of this app. My one recommendation to make it even better is this: in the quiz, after we choose the correct artist to go with the biography, it would be extremely helpful if one of the artist’s paintings were displayed, so that we can immediately associate him with his art. Thanks so much for a wonderful, illuminating app. Will there be another edition with 140 different paintings? If I tried to buy it again it said I had purchased it but it wouldn’t let me use it. It was completely unusable and I had to delete it. **Developer response:** I am very sorry about this. Also please check if you have the latest version of the App. I will also look into this at the design level to see if I could make the transactions more robust although I am following the guidelines. Dommage qu’on est pas la possibilité de zoomer nous mêmes sur les œuvres dans le mode Diaporama et dommage aussi de ne pas avoir l’année de création des œuvres et leurs dimensions dans un petit cartel avec le titre. Mais le problème majeur c’est que maintenant mon application se ferme sans arrêt quand je dois répondre au mouvement. Quand j’allume l’appli est que je sélectionne le mode Quiz avec toutes les galeries, je peux seulement reconnaître deux peintures et lorsque je clique sur le mouvement l’appli se ferme en même temps c’est dommage. Est il possible de régler ce problème ? ### 4/5 — Great for learning important western artists *2020-01-11* I was looking for a game or quiz that covered history and this popped up. It’s a great tool for periods and styles influenced by the times the artists lived in making it a satisfying study of historical events. There are two things I would change: 1) I would add world artists and 2) I would change the display for learning. As the painting moves down and to the right, eventually leaving the screen, it does this weird jitter that makes me feel nauseous. If I was epileptic, I would probably have a seizure. **Developer response:** Thank you for your comments, I work alone and having feedback is essential to improve. I had not notice the weird way the slide show in the App was now unrolling. It was not designed that way but with the last iOS version has changed its behaviour. I will correct this in the next version. Thank you again. Edited response: For your information I modified the App so the slide show is now back to normal. The new version is 1.4. As another reviewer noted, it is a great refresher. I am enjoying the app a lot and everything I studied is coming back to me but with a tenfold appreciation, and as a much older and wiser adult! I love the way you learn about the artists and movements in a comprehensive way. But I wish there was an option to zoom in on the pictures when you read about the artist. I sometimes want to look at how they used thier brushstrokes or some paintings are so big that looking at the details becomes impossible at the small scale of the fixed picture.
