## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Spelling mistakes

*2018-09-26*

Premiers mots instead of premier mots
Couleurs instead of coulers

### 1/5 — Not working

*2014-10-08*

Doesn't work after update to 8.0.2!

### 1/5 — Limited

*2011-10-16*

A waste of money. For 10 dollars you'd expect more than a dozen words pronounced in Canadian French.

### 1/5 — Very basic French

*2011-09-20*

It's the only Quebecois app out there and it's designed well, but the vocabulary and phrases are very basic. So if you have any knowledge of French this is only helpful for Quebecois pronunciation. Not sure I'd pay $10 again unless vocabulary was significantly expanded.

### 1/5 — what a rip-off

*2010-06-23*

Paid 9.99$ for apps worth a cent! What a waste of money. So few words and phrases that the free apps have 50 times more... Never attempt to buy unless you have few extra bucks to burn.

### 2/5 — Very disappointed

*2015-01-27*

The app does not run well. Needs a major bug fix when it comes to easy game+ and hard game. Only the timers appear with no actual cards to learn from

### 2/5 — Masculine or feminine?

*2012-05-14*

Why, unlike the app uTalk French, is there no "le" or "la" or "un" or "une" before each noun? How is the learner supposed to know the proper grammar? Is it really that hard to add them in? For $11.99 it shouldn't be.

### 3/5 — More

*2020-11-04*

I wish you could put more words for people just starting to learn, it should be on how you would teach a child to speak and go from there

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback.🙏This app contains around 250 words and phrases, all voiced by native speakers, as well as games to help you remember what you’ve learned. It’s designed to give complete beginners an achievable goal so they can be motivated to learn more. You are clearly a fast learner so please contact support@utalk.com and we’ll gladly point you in the direction of more French Canadian content.😊 Best wishes, Sarah

### 4/5 — I feel good about this application

*2019-04-15*

I paid 7.99 for this application and I believe for a beginner, it is perfect. There are not a whole lot of learning applications the include French Canadien language and this is one that is ONLY French Canadien. I love it and thank you for always updating and trying to make it better and listening to our annoying complaints.

**Developer response:** Thanks for saying such nice things about uTalk Classic - we're really pleased! 😊 Did you know that Canadian French retains some features from 17th Century French? One example is the very casual street way of pronouncing ‘toi et moi’ (you and me) which tends to sound like 'toé et moé’ which was the classical French pronunciation before the French Revolution! We hope you have lots of fun learning the language. Best wishes, Sarah PS Please contact support@utalk.com so we can share news about uTalk’s French Canadian with you.

### 4/5 — Great beginner app...

*2011-04-17*

Good for getting started with French. Especially for Canadians like me who need and want to hear the Quebec accent to get used to it instead of a french accent from France.

## Most praised reviews (3 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — My son loves this app

*2013-03-22, version 1.5.5*

We are moving to Canada and I wanted my 4 year old to learn some French before we went out there. He loves this app. The photos are really clear and he loves practicing the words and hearing his voice repeated back to him. The interface is so simple that even he can use it. The games are a great way to test knowledge in a fun way. Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to build up their vocabulary and practice pronunciation.

### 5/5 — Great for American English and Canadian English Speakers.

*2012-11-02*

For those who are speaking American and Canadian English, you might be interested in Canadian French. This app is similar to the uTalk French app which used the European dialect, but this one has a Canadian dialect. Amazing buy!

### 5/5 — Great

*2010-06-10, version 0*

Their games it will make learning easy and fun.
