An excellent app.
Hen Hao!
Probably the best app for learning mandarin I have seen and I have downloaded a lot!
I would really liked to have seen a translator included in the app but apart from that this fantastic.

This app is teaching real Chinese.

### 4/5 — Useful

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not really good

*2020-01-27, version 2.3*

The audio doesn’t even work the words also have boring words and only two topics

### 1/5 — Very bad sound quality

*2018-06-25, version 2.3*

Very bad sound quality and talking too fast

### 1/5 — Not happy

*2015-09-14, version 2.3*

I've downloaded the free version and was charged £1.58! How is this a free app?

### 1/5 — Meh...

*2013-08-04, version 2.0*

Update:

There's no way of contacting support and the review for the fully paid app was probably paid for to make the review.

Too expensive and still some faults but no way of contacting. Such a shame...

I can see the paid version being useful. I'd want to get hold of it but its just too expensive for an app.

Maybe 4.99 for a release. Maybe it's why you don't have any reviews yet?

I'd wait to see if it comes down in price before paying for the paid app though.

Overall nice features and I like how modern it is but the price is off putting to buy the full app.

I'd also like to see a custom recording which allows you to input your own phrases so you can include them into your favourites.

### 2/5 — Poor audio sampling

*2013-05-11, version 2.0*

Not

### 3/5 — Great app!

*2013-01-20, version 1.0*

Lots of great sentences in mandarin to memorize that are very common. Though some are not used in Taiwan or are very formal. Worth the 20 megs of space. Recordings are clear but maybe too fast for some ears. Get it.

### 4/5 — Love this app

*2020-03-27*

I love this app, it is free it teaches me how to talk Chinese and it is so much fun to lean with this app you can try it it is very fun

### 4/5 — Nice App

*2018-01-18, version 2.3*

There are actually 7,332 sentences, with a lot of repeats, either word for word or with slight variations... so in terms of unique content, the app actually has 5-6,000 sentences. They’re all spoken by a native Chinese speaker (not a tts bot) at close to conversation speed, so you get to hear “real Chinese”. I’ve been through the whole list once. What I like to do now is to pick out a section and put it on auto-pilot, letting it read through the list by itself. It’s easy to pause and repeat a particular sentence as many times as you like. There’s a fair amount of colloquial speech, which you don’t typically find in text books. One of my favorite sections is a list of 106 food dishes commonly found in restaurants in China. All in all, a very useful app.

### 4/5 — Awesome

*2013-12-19, version 2.2*

I really like it!

### 4/5 — This app rocks!

Ascoltare e riascoltare queste frasi è il modo migliore per memorizzarle ed imparare a diventare fluenti in cinese! Spero che quest'app continui ad essere supportata

### 5/5 — Great

This is one of the apps that has soooooooo much without u having to pay millions of pennies or whatever, u get a huge amount of access to phrases very helpful for beginners and intermediate speakers. I recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Perfect for the beginner

*2015-05-19, version 2.3*

These phrases are very useful for those trying to Lear Mandarin. Using a combination of this app, google translate and PinYin charts makes the learning experience much more involved and interesting.

### 5/5 — Glad to have it!!

*2015-03-24, version 2.2*

This app is extremely helpful... The listen then record yourself feature, with playback, makes it even better. Although you can start anywhere, the pinyin pronunciation portion is a great place to begin. Especially for learning in the traditional method by learning tones first! Worth the money for the full version!

### 5/5 — Very useful app

*2013-09-21, version 2.0*

I have tried a number of learning Chinese apps and this is absolutely the best! The pinyin is very helpful for learning as is the explanation of each individual character in the sentence. My Chinese teacher was impressed when I surprised her with a few of the sentences that I learnt. Thank you, great app!
