Not for raw beginners, but excellent for expanding your knowledge in the Chinese language and for revising your Chinese. There are a occasionally words that are hard to hear. The sound effects are too loud. I would like separate volume control for the voices and the bells and noises. It might also be helpful if they added tone indicators to the pinyin. I am very happy there is only Chinese and pinyin with no other languages. The only exception might be the Yale phonetic translation. I got this for my 6yo to relearn Mandarin after he lost it due to living in a foreign country for two years and having to catch up on language. I can’t tell if they have a Cantonese person trying to speak Mandarin or something else is wrong, but it’s off. Mandarin is my mother tongue so I’m not making this up. ### 1/5 — Needs work *2018-09-14* This app needs some work. As someone who took Chinese in college, I know for a fact that without tone marks and wrong pronunciation you can be saying something completely different. You think you’re saying one thing (something innocent) but you could be saying something completely different (maybe something inappropriate or offensive). NONE of the pinyin has tone marks. They are also missing lessons. They only have lessons 1, 2, 7, 12, and 21. And none of these lesson le are teaching you grammar or sentence structure, it’s just vocabulary. Other than that the use of pictures is wisely used but overall needs major work. Especially if I can get Duolingo for FREE and it’s correct with pinyin and grammar/sentence structure. ### 1/5 — Crashes upon start up *2017-10-09, version 1.7.0* Downloaded app the I ran it and it crashes . As soon as the app opened it closed. ### 1/5 — Beware *2015-07-13* Wan Peng is a scammer. He hired us to promote Epic Cards Battle 6 months ago and never paid us the 900 USD he owed us. His apps are doing just fine, with incomes over 20 thousands USD per month but he refuses to pay hard working people. We almost went out of business becasue we worked 10 days constantly for the app and barely managed to pay our bills.
