### 4/5 — I like the setup

*2020-06-20*

I think this app will be very promising to my language study

### 4/5 — Good but room for Improvement

*2020-01-02, version 3.20180228*

It is very good but the point of paying for further learning I don’t like I feel that if they wanted to have a source of income they are better of with ads and then providing a premium to get rid of the ads. Xiè Xiè for letting me learn Mandarin

### 3/5 — Can’t get sound

*2019-10-11*

I really wanted to hear the pronunciation but the hacks suggested by Brainscape aren’t working.

### 3/5 — First 15 cards I studied, I found an obviously wrong card

*2019-04-14*

The app told me “bu ke qi” meant impolite/blunt, but I actually knew it was a polite way of responding to someone when they say “thank you.” The fact that I found an error on a study card so early in my demo frightens me about using this as a long term study tool.

### 5/5 — Brainscape Mandarin Chinese

*2018-07-23*

The Flashcards method is the best way I know to broaden ones vocabulary. An excellent tool!!

### 3/5 — Good app nice layout requires payment.

*2018-05-19, version 3.20180228*

It’s a nice application. Lot of words good system of learning. Has a lot of potential and better than most apps out there. But unfortunately like a demo. Try a bit but to use 90% of content and features requires at least a £20 purchase price or more.

### 5/5 — Pat

### 5/5 — Really great

Great app for memorizing and expanding your Chinese vocabulary. It’s easy to use, the format makes sense, and the amount of material is great. Definitely recommend.

### 5/5 — Very satisfied

*2017-12-14, version 3.20171004*

I've been using this app for a few days and I'm really impressed. Repeating words based on familiarity is amazing, I don't need to constantly go over words I already know by heart. The only thing that would make it better is if you could practice writing with it as well.

### 5/5 — Love it

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No

*2017-06-28, version 2.20160809*

1. Wants my Friends from Facebook or
2. Wants my email address but says, "it doesn't look like an email address (!?)"

### 1/5 — Wate of time

*2016-03-26, version 2.20141128*

You cant use the flashcards or beginning the study unless you download another app & purchase extra features. Does waste your time in downloading

### 1/5 — Couldn’t get it to work

*2016-01-14, version 2.20141128*

Wants too much personal info, after spending 15 minutes on it never got it to work.

### 1/5 — Account

*2015-10-18, version 2.20141128*

Why do I now need an account and have to add myself to a mailing list to learn Chinese? I don't! Deleted!

### 1/5 — Not strictly free

*2015-09-14, version 2.20141128*

Can't access this programme unless you provide full name and email address and set up an account. Just wanted a quick play to see if useful and would buy main app. Deleting instead.

### 1/5 — Inaccurate translations

*2014-12-22, version 2.20141128*

I have been taking Mandarin Chinese for 4 years now, and I got this app because I wanted away to review and freshen up on old material on the go. I was severely disappointed by the inaccuracy of the definitions, as many of them were far from what I'd been taught by my teacher, a native Chinese speaker (for example, the Chinese word for "want" was translated to "think" and their definition for "excuse me" was way off). The study techniques may work for some people, but the translations are far from accurate. I would not recommend this app.

### 1/5 — Really??

*2014-11-02, version 2.20140919*

Loved how China brain scape works, but my tutor has specific words I need to be learning, so I would search/add his words. To my surprise, words like China and call, I can't find. There were more.

Really? Come on.

Maybe the words are in there but it's no intuitive. I even paid for the full blown version figuring I had to pay to unlock extra words. I feel like a big sucker.

### 1/5 — Ugh! Simplified Chinese

*2014-07-04, version 2.20140114*

Please have a traditional version. They only use simplified Chinese in China.

The other asian countries do not agree with simplifying our culture to appease the illiterate masses.

Thanks

### 2/5 — Meh

*2017-03-28, version 2.20160809*

Looks nice, but it's just flash cards. Some translations are a little off

### 2/5 — Not great

*2015-01-27, version 2.20141128*

Well, it teaches you things in a very weird way. Mandarin is hard anyway but this throws you straight into the deep end with loads of words you've never heard of and expects you to memorise them? It's not great to be honest but it will help if you're already good at mandarin

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Two Es

*2020-09-14*

I give it two Es: Entertaining and Educational.

### 5/5 — Simple and easy to use app

*2020-04-09*

The recordings are awesome. It will be nice to have same sentences and a recording feature to train practice ones pronunciation

### 5/5 — Fast learner

*2020-02-11*

This makes it easy in pronunciation

### 5/5 — Great app to learn Mandarin

*2019-10-23*

Highly recommend. Would be even better if they made it game-like.

### 5/5 — Best Chinese practice app out there.

*2019-09-15*

Been using this app off and on for years. Not the best basic learning option, but definitely the best for studying and gaining vocabulary and grammar advancement. Check it out!

### 5/5 — I use this app

*2019-08-04, version 3.20180228*

I try to use this app everyday at least 100 flash cards. The premise of this app is the use of repetition I think it is daunting at first mastering Chinese but keep going. Also for the Brainscape app if you subscribe please use the code “TREBLEBASS91” for a discount. Thanks

### 5/5 — Good flash card based system!

*2019-07-24*

This has helped me with memorization, which I struggle with. This is definitely worth the download!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2018-12-19, version 3.20180228*

Xia xia for this app I love it and helps hên duō

### 5/5 — Chinese

*2018-11-08, version 3.20180228*

Very interesting

### 5/5 — Amazing app for learning Mandarin

*2018-09-22, version 3.20180228*

An incredible companion app to Duolingo, Drops, or whatever you use to study Mandarin. A must have for serious learners of Mandarin and it really strengthens ALL aspects of learning the language... including writing... which is unheard of in most apps.
