## What is 字课?

字课 helps you build Simplified Chinese writing skills on paper, rate every character, and focus each review on weaker ones.

Choose a structured character or word range, then write each prompt by hand on paper. Afterward, mark every character as Easy, Hard, or Wrong. 字课 turns those results into a clear proficiency view and brings weaker characters forward for focused review.

Use the Mistake Notebook to collect characters missed in dictation, homework, tests, or everyday study. Review recent mistakes, see which characters are becoming secure, and keep a history of your practice results.

The built-in character and word lists follow a character-first path inspired by Mainland Chinese elementary learning. Use them alongside classes, tutoring, heritage-language study, or independent practice.

This update adds Pause Daily Goal (shown in the app as “暂停每日目标”), so a short break for travel, a school trip, or illness won’t end an existing streak just because the daily goal was missed.

• Set start and end dates, then resume early, extend, or correct a recent break.
• Meeting the goal on a paused day still counts as a real streak day.
• Pausing never adds practice or changes history, proficiency, or recommendations.
• Break status appears in Today and the history calendar and is included in backup and restore.

• Start dictation directly from the character library, mastery views, or Mistake Notebook, with consistent character details.
• Create printable Tian Zi Ge practice-sheet PDFs from the current character set, then preview, print, or share them.
• See session progress and a clearer summary of newly mastered, review-needed, and skipped characters.
• Improved hold-to-submit feedback.
