Thank you for this fun little app however without the articles it’s only half correct. It really is very very important for German learners to have access to all the articles - to be learned with the word, at the same time. If you took a German test and got the article wrong most you could lose credit for the whole word. The articles are part of the words. 4.5 star app, 2 stars for no articles. In the 'letters section' Yoyo its spelled in German with Y, later on in the 'Objects section' its again spelled with J. Also in basic mode it gives the picture, the written word and spoken. Thus good for first time but but not for testing myself. In question mode it shows 4 pictures and says the word. That is HUGE with this language and makes sentence structure impossible later if you don't learn the word with its article (die, der, das). Some sections say the word in English instead of German. For example, when going into the “body parts” section it writes in in German but says it in English. When I go into the question mode it says some word before the question, sounds like Japanese?? I believe it used to work in the past but they must have made some changes and the sections got updated in the wrong language. Also, it would be helpful to have the article (der, die, das) of the word. ### 1/5 — Der die das? *2015-08-09, version 1.7* Are you really teaching nouns without their der die das? ### 1/5 — Need def articles. *2012-12-20* This app is pointless. Any German language app that doesn't include the article for the associated word is entirely useless. You can't speak German AT ALL without the articles. Here's an idea; have someone who has at least a nominal understanding of the language develop the app. Brilliant. Bottom line - don't waste your time, or your child's time learning vocab without the articles. ### 1/5 — Beware! Sex Themed Ads *2012-10-31* I downloaded this game to help my children who are 4 and 8 learn German. The game is good BUT they run inappropriate sex-themed advertisements while the kids are playing. I had to uninstall it after mostly naked women started flashing on the screen advertising a video game. And they advertise this app as focused on kids 4+!!! Do not download - NOT APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN. - A fellow Mom. ### 1/5 — Mistakes *2012-07-22, version 1.5* of no use ### 1/5 — I don't recommend it *2012-07-02, version 1.5* The app offers a pretty bad pronunciation where the voice talent swallows part of the words. I'm a German native and I would probably speak this way with my peers but I don't want my kids to learn their first German words from this app. Example: The word "Brezel" is pronounced "Brezl" in this app. Wrong! The word "Erbsen" is pronounced "Erbsn" in this app. Wrong! I could go on and on. Another thing that really bothers me that all the words are missing articles.
