### 4/5 — Very good but not a lot of Vocab

*2017-07-20, version 3.6.1*

Really good app but not a lot of words. Would be perfect if there were at least 1000 words like most language apps and perhaps add some pictures too to aid in memory

### 2/5 — Cumbersome

*2015-06-18, version 2.8.2*

Too many bits and pieces to navigate through. Lots of content, just seems it could be structured better.

### 2/5 — Modern Hellenism VS Ancients

*2014-10-18, version 2.7.0*

After learning & teaching Greek of the Koine Period (Alexander possibly until being under the Ottoman Empire), it is quite exasperating to me to hear the oral Greek vowels sounded to the corrupted pronunciation of the Modern.
History observations relate that things do change. However, when I am trying to learn parse, translate, & interpret The Christian Bible, penned in the Koine period, which Greek is simplified in form, varying from the most ancient Greek ~ quite attached to the Indian Sanskrit.
Without doubt, the biggest irritation is hearing your reader using a long "O" sound on omicrons. They should be always sounded as "o" as in "bOttOm," & not "o" as in "gO" or "LOW," or as in "BLOW."
In proper non-modern Greek, most of the long "O" sounds are rightly assigned to the Greek OMEGA, which looks much like our Latin W.
Really, I should not be evaluating the APP, since I use it very little, and the big Windows program I use is very expensive, AND THEIR GREEK AUDIBLE READER ALSO WRECKS THE KOINE PERIOD.

### 2/5 — Not very good

*2012-06-15, version 2.2.0*

Very limited set of words, of little use. Not a great advert for the paid app

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2012-04-08, version 2.1.0*

This app would be infinitely more useful if it at least had the article with the nouns. Gender matching is often the hardest part for English speakers. The quiz is also not very useful. It is too easy to pick the correct answer from multiple choice without really knowing the word. I'd rather have the option to type in your answer.

### 4/5 — It's pretty good.

*2012-03-08, version 2.1.0*

This is a great app. For everyone out there who says they hate it, this is the FREE version. And it's called Greek ESSENTIALS. Not, "Learn How to Ask Where the Nearest Salon Is in Greek". If you wanted something like that, get the full paid version or Rosetta Stone. The one thing that I didn't like was that it didn't tell me how to say "yes" or "no", even though I already knew them.

### 4/5 — Fantastic!

*2011-12-29, version 2.1.0*

I love it! The native speaker is easy to understand. There are only 132 words and it doesn't teach conversation but for a free app, it helped to build my vocab as well as reading Greek words.

### 2/5 — Ehhhh

*2011-10-17, version 2.0.1*

Great app, BUT it needs wayyy more words. Hardly any of the words I need to study are on here! Add all vocab from David Black's Learn to Read New Testament Greek! Please!

### 3/5 — Could use more words

*2011-07-01, version 2.0.1*

It didn't have that many words. It's not good if you want to learn to carry on a conversation. The paid version might be better though.

### 1/5 — Translator?

*2011-06-24, version 2.0.0*

Translator's gone? So am I!

### 4/5 — Cool but how do I get Audio quiz to work?

*2011-06-12, version 1.9.0*

Good but can someone tell me how to get audio quiz to work....my volume is all the way up, I don't get it?

### 1/5 — No alphabet or conversational Greek

*2011-05-19, version 1.9.0*

I agree with the first reviewer, no alphabet tool makes it difficult to relate to written displays. Also I was after some basic conversational Greek but the sample of words in this free edition doesn't include basic greetings or any sentences, just some random vocab.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Glorified Dictionary

*2014-01-23, version 2.6.0*

This app is a waste of time. The designers clearly have no experience in language education.

### 1/5 — TERRIBLE

*2013-12-28, version 2.6.0*

I LEARNED ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! !!!!!!!👺😡💀

### 1/5 — Very lame

*2013-02-25, version 2.5.0*

Various useless words

### 1/5 — Way too complex

*2013-02-18, version 2.5.0*

This app starts at a complex obtuse level - definitely not basic or intuitive.
Not for beginners.

### 1/5 — .

*2012-02-01, version 2.1.0*

Rubbish since update as no longer translates Greek to English.

### 1/5 — What is this?

*2012-01-13, version 2.1.0*

I just now installed this, but can't figure out what the main menu is supposed to me. Just a hodge-podge of meaningless choices. I guess I'm expected to look through each of the options until I find one that's relevant or useful. I did that and still don't know what the options are supposed to be. There appear to be at least four options to look at flashcards, for example, but only one of those options is labeled flashcards. There's "Study," which is flashcards, or "Flashcards,".which is more flashcards, and "Spaced Repetition," whatever that's supposed to mean, which is more flashcards. Then ther's "Audio Afvance," whatever that's supposed to mean, which is more flashcards. Starts out largely with many-syllabled words without ever teaching the basics of pronunciation.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2012-01-12, version 2.1.0*

I hated it. All the words I wanted to learn were not on this stupid app! >:(

### 1/5 — Greek was fun up until now

*2011-11-11, version 2.0.1*

Crap

### 1/5 — Blah

*2011-07-17, version 2.0.1*

There isn't even hello or goodbye. And its all jumbled, have the months and numbers in order, who learns like that?

### 1/5 — Translator Gone 

*2011-07-04, version 2.0.1*

The reason I got this was for the translator. This app is worthless to me now. So like someone said before me translator gone and so am I.
