The instructions are on top of the screen, so they are blocked by the dynamic island and unreadable. The left swipe/right swipe cards are a bad idea - they reinforce incorrect vocabulary through imagery and aren't helpful. Overall, it seems like the app is designed to help you recognize words rather than actually remember and use them.
