### 4/5 — Best flash card Learning tool

*2012-07-04, version 2.3.0*

This is a very nicely designed app and an exceptional learning tool if you already know the Kana enunciation.
I would give it 5 star if:
-It had more words and categories
-Was not missing the word for "spring"
Also, Kanji is just way too difficult for most learners so a Katakana option would be useful. Please keep expanding this app! I will definitely pay for a larger dictionary say of 2-3,000 common words and then common phrases using same learning format.

### 4/5 — Excellent

*2012-04-12*

Very helpful and interactive!! Easy learning!

### 3/5 — Random words?

*2012-04-06, version 2.1.0*

This app is really good but the words here are just random and out of place! They should put one category for numbers, another for months, another for colors and so on. I had autumn to baby.. I hope they do something about it in an update :)

### 5/5 — Simple and helpful

*2011-11-05, version 2.0.1*

I like it! It's very well designed for beginners to remember basic words. I love the UI design especially. Recommend!

### 5/5 — Great

*2011-10-22, version 2.0.1*

Really easy to catch on and understand.

### 3/5 — Bizarrely random vocabulary

*2011-10-18, version 2.0.1*

Seems okay, although it is below my current level of Japanese. The vocabulary though, as noted in another review, is just bizarre - cold front, warm front, flooding, foggy, walker? I am either being prepped to be a weatherman or ready for retirement in Japan.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Full of bugs.

*2026-01-07, version 3.8.0*

Crashes, looses data and locks up my iPhone, requiring a restart.

### 1/5 — Way too unorganized

*2012-09-14, version 2.3.0*

Very random which made things confusing.

### 1/5 — Terrible!

*2012-05-25, version 2.2.0*

I looked at this app for five seconds and they were pronouncing everything wrong! It's unorganized and just unhelpful.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2012-04-23, version 2.2.0*

Its a waste of time! Nothing you need to know is here

### 1/5 — Stupid!!!

*2011-05-24, version 1.9.0*

Wow i couldnt even find the word hi....not as if i dont know what it is but really!!!?????

### 1/5 — AccelaLearn

*2010-11-21, version 0*

I just wish it was a native Japanese speaker. It would have made the lesson a lot more authentic.

### 1/5 — Ok I guess

*2010-10-12, version 0*

This app doesn't really help unless you want to just look at flash cards of words that you wouldn't use in everyday language. Unless you only want to talk about the weather or numbers (it's missing a couple numbers and a season...)

### 2/5 — Poorly executed

*2013-04-19, version 2.6.0*

Sure, it sounds like a good idea, but the mixed level of words is frustrating. You can select individual categories, but you can't go further than that. So, if you select only "Weather", you get 23 words such as "cold front" and "snow". Now, if you're at the level that you need to learn "cold front", you probably learned "snow" several years ago. And if you don't know "snow", you aren't going to waste your time trying to learn "cold front". The same problem exists for all categories. "Numbers" is even worse. There, you have a clump of 46 words. Now, if you don't know "8", are you really needing to learn "quadruple" or "million"? This is crazy, and this app has been like this for years, but never fixed, only it now has ads, although since I never use it, that doesn't matter. I guess I keep hoping it'll improve enough to be useful. Still waiting.

### 2/5 — Cannot have own words and no pictures for flash cards

*2011-12-16, version 2.1.0*

I cannot add my own words to flash card to be studied and have quiz. If can add picture to the flash card will be even better to promote easier learning.

### 2/5 — Not very good, but helpful

*2011-07-22, version 2.0.1*

You definately get what you paid for- FREE! I like how you can study a specific topic, but they're all so random! Like, when am i ever gonna say 'diaper'? And so i just wanted to study the numbers and that's when i realize how ridiculous this app is- the darn numbers aren't even in order! WTC? No help... 。・°°・(＞_＜)・°°・。

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2013-01-22, version 2.5.0*

It's really good with this app, if I study really hard I'll be able to learn Japanese easy and quick.👍

### 5/5 — Better Than Rosetta

*2012-11-17, version 2.5.0*

I love all their language learning apps (I have French, Spanish, Japanese, and Portuguese). They are easy, fast, and effective. In fact, I learned more using their (FREE) app, and in less time, than I did with my $299 Rosetta Stone. And notice I said their "free" versions.... I can imagine their full versions are even better - and I intend to purchase all of them.

### 5/5 — I love it!

*2012-10-22, version 2.3.0*

More words please I'm eager for more!

### 5/5 — Yay!!

*2012-07-07, version 2.3.0*

It amazes me of how much I have learned in thirty minutes and am getting use to the kanji a bit but the numbers and months are my strong points but the days are my weakest haha. I enjoy learning from this app. I am suppose to get ready for my mandarin class but I wish they had Japanese haha!!

### 5/5 — Good app

*2012-05-09, version 2.2.0*

Taught me how to say the date in Japanese which is pretty cool...and only in 2 hours! Wonderful app! Keep making more updates!

### 5/5 — Great!

*2012-05-01, version 2.2.0*

Good app! The reason that there is not enough words is because the full version is 9.99$. Which Is worth it :P

### 5/5 — Just review:

*2012-02-03, version 2.1.0*

One of the outstanding app!
Keep up!

### 5/5 — Good
