Les jeux sont très instructifs et efficaces, la vitesse d’écoute réduite très bonne. MAIS trop peu de vocabulaire ou de phrases type. I like that it plays each of the vocabulary words in both a man's and a woman's voice. I wish it was louder, though. Even with the volume all the way up on my iPhone, I can't hear it very well unless the room is silent. Peut-être quelques corrections lors de mises à jours...si les développeurs n'ont pas abandonné le projet... ### 3/5 — Great Concept; Need Expansion *2012-04-14* It works beautifully, and it gets you to know a few words very quickly. I like the dual-pronounciation support(both man and woman voice), and the games are stimulating. However, the price is definitely way too expensive for its content. At $12, it should have a lot more words than the current 200 words or so. Also, the English-equivalent spelling seems to be inconsistent; an "aa" is sometimes pronounced "o" as in "orange", and sometimes as in "hot". The lack of dictionary is another minus. I don't mind paying $12 for this type of app, but this app definitely needs a lot more content. It's ridiculous when I can ask a taxi driver to turn right or left, but I don't know how to tell him to go straight. Especially considering you can learn 80-90% of this for free from World Nomads. Buyer beware! ### 2/5 — Ouch! *2010-09-05, version 0* I thought the price equated to a thorough phrase app. Not even close. Please expand this emaciated guide into a helpful, real world, most circumstances phrase app. ### 2/5 — More technically impressive than locally helpful *2009-12-08, version 0* The good thing about the uTalk series is that they are polished applications. They look good, they run smoothly, the audio is decent quality, and there are sensible learning tools. The bad thing about the uTalk series is that they are all written as if someone progresses from child to geek with nominal human contact, geographical or interpersonal. You learn how to say *things*. You learn the basics to keep people at bay. What you don;t get is pleasantries to help you get to know people. Some language guides cover this by a category of 'flirting' - but ity's really just basic human thoughtfulness and two-way talk. For instance, "How are you?" "Do you like . . . ?" "I like your . . . " "That's nice!" "Youa re very helpful." Of the sections, everyting is about objects excect two. 'First words' - at least covers hellos, good mornings and sorrys. Then there's a promising looking icon of a man and woman looking cordiallly at each other, as if enjoying each other's company socially. But the phrases are all, 'me, me, me.' The other sadly laughable problem is that all the words and phrases are chosen from a comfy Western library. Under 'food' you won't get even the most common national dishes. But it will tell you words like chopsticks and strawberries, whether you can, or would want, to find them in the country of that language or not. Technically competent. But the programmers really do need to wake up and smell the grass. ### 2/5 — Bloated Price *2009-11-13, version 0* I've got a couple of applications for speaking Khmer and this one is way over priced for what you get. I really hope there's a huge amount of content updates to come as without that I'd suggest you save your money! When you go to Cambodia you'll find that costs are worked out in Dollars or Riel (Hundreds / Thousands). This app will help with everything below the number 20 so maybe budget accordingly... Also it's great to know how to say Market but should you need to say you want to go there then the phrases with this app won't help.
