### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2026-05-29, version 1.8.2*

I’ve been using this app for a few weeks and I’ve learnt more than using Duolingo in 8 months. The activities are great and easy to follow.
Looking forward to continuing to learn with this wonderful app.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2026-05-13, version 1.8.1*

I wanted to learn Korean, and wanted to start with Hangul First. I found this app on a reddit post that the dev made. So far it’s been brilliant. Really like the Hangul course, and once you master that you can learn grammar. Then you can improve your reading speed with the stories. I’m on a 70+ day streak and the devs have made several improvements and additions along the way. 10/10

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-05-04, version 1.7.2*

Super user friendly! I’ve just started out but I enjoy it so far!

### 5/5 — Extraordinary

*2026-05-02, version 1.7.2*

I’ve been through a few Hangul learning apps; this stands as an Everest above the crowd.

This rating is based on the little details the developer includes. On a grand scale you’re given a whimsical map of your progress (sorta like Candy Crush); on the small scale it’s extremely customizable on how little or how much you want learn; on the tiny scale you can repeat attempts to pronounce a syllable to your heart’s content.

There’s much more to commend, but your money is well invested when you sign up. Although my handle is “CrabbyCustomer” for this I’m —- One Happy Customer.

### 5/5 — Besttt 10/10

*2026-04-30, version 1.7.2*

Better than most apps I use! It also lets us write the Hangul, which I think is really helpful!

### 5/5 — Awesome App so far

*2026-04-29, version 1.7.2*

I just started using the app. As an American, learning Hangul is challenging. I love how interactive it is and covers everything from pronunciation to writing the character and recognizing it on the text pad.

### 5/5 — Thank you!

*2026-04-29, version 1.7.2*

Really enjoying the help with Hangul. It helps with writing, reading, and pronunciation! Thank you!

### 5/5 — My favourite vocab app!

*2026-04-27, version 1.7.2*

I found a random post about this app on Reddit and thought “why not” so downloaded it to try. I’ve tried multiple apps before for Korean and all of them feel too colourful and distracting or they’re locked behind a paywall, or they’re just kind of annoying. So I had basically give up with apps. But then this little gem of an app was created and it’s totally changed the game for me. It’s nicely simplistic without being boring and it’s the quickest I’ve ever picked up vocab before.
I’m not a total beginner with Korean which helps but I’ve always struggled with vocab and felt overwhelmed wondering how to learn words productively.

There’s no bright colours and characters covering the screen, there’s no robot voice talking long sentences to you, it doesn’t feel like it’s babying you or over explaining at all, and it consistently revisits previously learnt words to make sure you still know them. Plus the 5 free daily lessons feels like the perfect amount to do each day.

Anyway this is an unnecessary long review which I never normally leave lol but I just want the person who created it to know that you did a great job!! And I prefer this over all of the most used and popular apps out there :)

### 5/5 — I am just trying it out

*2026-04-08, version 1.7.1*

I am trying this out, heard this app from Reddit and I LOVE IT ALREADY.

I hope that when it comes to stores it has different highlights on what word is what so you can understand Korean sentences work because my brain can only understand sentences that way

I would DEFINITELY pay the subscription

### 5/5 — LOVE THIS APP

*2026-03-27, version 1.6.0*

Keep up the great work!!

### 5/5 — Nice well rounded learning experience

*2026-01-25, version 1.4.1*

I’ve been trying this app for a couple of weeks. Working through the Hangul section mostly, and I’ve tried the vocab section. I have been studying Korean using the standard language learning app for a few years, but my spelling and ability to generate sentences is horrible. I like this app because it gives you the opportunity to practice writing (including correct stroke order) and spelling as well as speech. I’m looking forward to seeing more and I enjoy using the app.

### 5/5 — I haven’t been using it for a while-

*2026-01-20, version 1.4.1*

But the app is really good download it people😁👍

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2025-12-06, version 1.1.1*

This is truly and amazing app everyone. I’ve been having issues finding an app where I’m able to truly learn more vocabulary and this does the trick. Not only does it show you words based on topics but it also shows the different uses for the word. And I love the drawing feature where it lets you draw out the word. It also has a feature where you are typing out the words using the Hangul keyboard

### 3/5 — Please bring back “learn next” option

*2026-08-18, version 1.9.4*

I have loved this amazing app for learning vocab. BUT since the last update, the option to add words to “Learn Next” has disappeared.
Could you please bring it back? I used to be able to add words I came across elsewhere or wanted to learn, making this app my one vocab bank. Now being locked into a specific order makes the app much less useful…. Please bring it back! 🙏

### 4/5 — Almost There

*2026-08-05, version 1.9.4*

I generally like this app a lot. BUT it often pings as incorrect if I don’t start the ㅇ at the exact correct place in the box. Or it marks something as incorrect which I got correct. Can be extremely frustrating to give the correct answer, have it marked wrong, look at the correction given and have it be what I answered. 😐

### 4/5 — Almost there

*2026-07-02, version 1.8.2*

I would give this 5 stars if it didn’t tell me I got the answer incorrect for not getting the writing in the exact right spot in the little square given. When I’m writing the correct letters, it’s discouraging to get flagged as incorrect. Makes the process unnecessarily frustrating.

### 4/5 — Great Learning Tool

*2026-05-20, version 1.8.2*

I am really enjoying this app. I do wish there was a “streak freeze” option. 🙂

### 5/5 — New at learning

*2026-08-15, version 1.9.4*

Low steps that help with quality!

### 5/5 — Love it!

### 5/5 — Wr

*2026-07-15, version 1.9.4*

Love it

### 5/5 — Great for beginners

*2026-07-07, version 1.8.2*

This is an excellent resource for complete beginners to learn to read, write, and pronounce Korean. The variety of question types and constant review are especially effective. If you want to learn Korean to travel, watch K-dramas/Korean cinema, or understand your favorite K-Pop artists, this app is a huge help!

## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great for beginners!

*2026-06-24, version 1.8.2*

I already had basic knowledge of Hangul when I downloaded this app but it was VERY hard for me to remember complex vowels for some reason. This app is fixing that daily! I don’t pay for premium but I might when I get to the end of the free content. I like how this app makes you say things AND ‘write’ them too. It’s been help to see, hear, speak and write. It really helps commit it to memory. I highly recommend to anyone starting their journey to give it a try!

### 5/5 — Review

*2026-06-08, version 1.8.2*

Thai is my first time writing a review and this app has amazed me on how unique and helpful this app is in about a week when I get paid am going to buy the subscription for £20 once for UNLIMITED time

### 5/5 — This App is great and beginner friendly

*2026-06-06, version 1.8.2*

It’s a pleasure to be able to learn how to write, pronounce, listen AND write with the keyboard at the same time.
It’s really the first time I’ve found an app where you can write on your phone but that also teaches you how to use the keyboard. Again it’s very user friendly and pretty fun to use, it makes more sense than Duolingo to me and it’s free,
I think you should definitely give it a try you won’t be disappointed at all!

### 5/5 — Complete solution for characters, vocab and grammar

*2026-06-03, version 1.8.2*

I tried a bunch of different apps for learning Korean before Jamo Korean but there was always something missing or incomplete or quirky. And trying to use several apps at once was just awkward and frustrating. Happily, Jamo Korean is a complete solution for learning Korean that totally works for me and I’m super happy with it! The vocabulary and grammar sections in particular are thorough and effective. I’m enjoying learning Korean again and gaining confidence in practical everyday reading (my primary goal). Great support too. Especially recommended for beginning self-directed learners!
