Thanks for saying it straight. Flash cards are a premium feature for now, and premium is what funds the work while we keep building the rest out. A trip coming up is honestly the best reason to study. The phrases here are pulled from real dialogue, so they should hold up in actual conversations rather than sounding like textbook Korean. Keep at it until you go, and have a great trip.

Three days in and already feeling that way is a great sign. The early lessons are built to give you quick wins, and the material goes deeper as you move up the levels, so there is plenty ahead. Good luck with your Korean.
