That’s romaji. Romaji is not English. The sound is absolutely unusable. It is so low that you cannot hear it well. I turned up my volume to max, even turned up my hearing aids. I can hear people 50 feet away, but cannot hear any sound from the app. Turned off my hearing aids and tried to use my phone speaker and nothing came out. The app should have an in app volume adjustment to compensate for the actual recording volume in case it was done in a quiet office by someone with perfect hearing. I just got access to the complimentary digital version in the app and it’s made a huge difference in frequency of use: I’m now able to launch it, quickly review, and understand a mistake. Dr. Moku does a great job of explaining the “why” and the “how” rather than just relying on rote memorization with no explanation. The mnemonics are SUPER helpful and create mental connections with the characters.
