### 2/5 — Not great update

*2021-06-09*

I have loved Word Power for at least 10 years. I am very angry that years and years of ‘word of the day’ and word bank got wiped out and reset with this update. I got kicked all the way back to Yi One and am not happy.

For so many years the 1st thing I did every morning was Word of the day.

So poor of developers….

### 4/5 — Review

*2019-01-27*

Good

### 4/5 — Step in the right direction

*2015-09-09*

The last two or three updates were horrible. This is a step in the right direction to making the app usable for people.

I'll try it for a week and then decide if it is worth ing keeping.

### 4/5 — Finally!

*2014-12-14*

A good app for studying Mandarin...best I have found after months of searching! Flashcards are fabulous. Great way to learn the hanzi as well as pinyin. Well worth the money!

### 4/5 — Cool

*2014-01-12, version 4.1.1*

Cool

### 4/5 — A good App overall

*2013-12-29*

The goal is nicely achieved, the app is quite complete and allows a nice improvement in Chinese.

Though I really like it, I would love that we could choose what to keep offline because the 400Mo of data is quite heavy for my iPad.

### 2/5 — Mrs

*2013-12-29, version 4.1.1*

To many repeats for word of the day. Subscibe and you will be bombarded with email.

### 2/5 — Not happy

*2013-09-04, version 4.1.1*

Just downloaded this app and immediately the sound went out for words, so I can see the word but can't hear pronunciation hope this can be fixed!

### 4/5 — Pretty great app

*2013-07-13, version 4.1.1*

Very fun app. I get to learn a new Chinese word every day.

### 4/5 — Excellent vocab building tool!

*2013-06-17, version 4.1.1*

I am very pleased with both the Chinese traditional and simplified versions, and my vocabulary is much stronger because of them.

### 5/5 — Xie Xie Ni

*2013-06-12, version 4.1.1*

Very easy to use app! Helped me to learn basic Chinese for work.

### 5/5 — Useful

*2013-06-06, version 4.1*

A nifty app for building vocabulary.

### 3/5 — No more readable traditional characters

*2012-12-06*

So when I first got this app I loved the fact that it was traditional Chinese. And then they changed it to simplified and they have the traditional characters under neath and are so small I cannot read them!!!! Also the new app takes up over a gig of memory! I don't have enough memory to update!!!! And the traditional characters are just annoying because you cannot see them!!!!!! This is a good app don't get me wrong but let's just say I am glad I did not have to pay for it

### 1/5 — Chinese flag was wrong

*2020-03-27, version 5.0*

The Chinese flag was wrong. All four small stars should point to the big star.

### 1/5 — Won’t load

*2019-10-21, version 5.0*

I used to like this app. But it hasn’t loaded for over a month. Freezes on sync and locks. I can’t believe it hasn’t been fixed. I’d never buy an app where the free version is non-functional.

### 1/5 — Not been able to use

*2018-06-08, version 5.0*

I had purchased this app for $240au and not been able to access it to use it. Now they are trying to charge my PayPal account again. Can’t get in touch with them either. Not happy!

### 1/5 — Didn't work!

*2015-09-16*

I downloaded the app, then tried to open it. The start screen would come up, and then it would automatically shut off. I kept trying, and trying, but it just kept shutting down before I even got into the app. If it would open, then maybe it would be a great app, but I could t actually get into it!

### 1/5 — Cannot complete installation

*2013-11-13, version 4.1.1*

Downloaded the app, couldn't complete the installation, and couldn't delete either. Please help.

### 1/5 — Very poor app

*2013-04-21, version 4.0.4*

[i have updated to the current version and it does not resolve the issue with the pinyin not showing as it claims]

After paying £6.99 for the upgrade I reported to the publisher of this app that over 50% of their flashcards were inaccurate or not displaying as they should.

Their feedback “Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. I have alerted our content development team about this mistake. While I don't have an exact date, I hope to have a fix available in a future update of the app”.

I presume as they are already on v4 there is either little or no value placed on quality control of their products to reach 4 major releases of the software and not address such glaring errors. Six weeks after sending the email to them they seem true their word with their response and no update seems forthcoming. I would not purchase this app, it is not indicative to a quality learning tool and certainly a waste of good money.

### 1/5 — DELETE This App

*2012-12-16, version 4.0.3*

Are you kidding? This app is 383Mb! Maybe keep it if you have no other apps but three of these 'free' apps take up more space than a full movie!

### 1/5 — Great if it were not so buggy

*2012-07-29, version 3.2.2*

Great features and decent UI but it crashes about every 3 minutes. Always reopens easily but it's really annoying. Worst app I have ever used from a stability perspective.

### 1/5 — Junk app

*2011-05-28, version 3.0*

Don't waste your time to download this app!

There have only one word a day and no vocabulary at all.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2011-03-15, version 2.4*

Expensive don't buy

### 5/5 — Goood learning tool to prep for a trip

*2014-04-24, version 4.1.1*

### 5/5 — Student

*2013-09-01*

Last year I had this app on my iPhone.
I then bought a 4gS and lost the Chinese 101. Then another Chinese app appeared and was not a good as Chinese 101. So happy to find Chinese 101 on my iPhone 4gS today. I can now get back to learning word by word, what it means, with pronunciation and especially the lady and man with humor. Hen hao! XieXie

### 5/5 — Really Good

*2013-07-06, version 4.1.1*

A really good, handy app
