### 5/5 — This is the way...

*2021-05-26, version 4.8.22*

This is an excellent way to learn. You probably need a very basic level in your target language. Lingq is full of resources, inspiration, and aids. Kaufmann is an inspiration. You should also check out Krashen if you are interested in the methodology. Basically a learner cannot realistically learn grammar. Instead, you can read and listen to fun material and the grammar and vocabulary will start to seem obvious, second natural and comprehensible. I love this approach. I have tried before and failed. I am succeeding now.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

### 5/5 — 넘 좋아용

회화 위주로 스페인어 배우고 싶어서 어플찾다가 발견했습니다!완전 왕초보인데 모르는 단어 클릭하면 바로바로 나와서 좋아요

### 4/5 — LingQs

*2020-04-13*

Why don’t you have a separate bar for all created lingQs? It would be very useful

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2020-03-13*

Love to be able to listen and read and learn the new words I don’t know by just tapping of them.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2020-02-15*

After having studied for a year and a half, and then becoming sick to the point of having to give up study for almost a year, getting back on the wagon and picking up where I left off was difficult. I had previously used Babbel and then a private tutor who was amazing. But now what? I had slid backwards a bit and was embarrassed to go back to my tutor because I was less than pleased with my backsliding. And how would she know where to pick up with me since I wasn’t at the level I was when I left her? During the sabbatical from studying I continued to read in Spanish, either easy readers, A or B level, or news articles, along with listening to Spanish through Professor Juan on YouTube. Then I discovered LingQ and tried their free intro. Oh, my goodness. Within the free period I realized I was learning at a pace that I never expected. I signed up for a six month block and find I am voracious to continue my learning again. It is interesting, exciting, and it sticks with me. The big thing is to make sure you fully learn the LingQ software. You won’t know how to use it completely in the first week, but then you “get it.” I’m old enough that I hate cellphones and wish for the time when we had the old heavy black telephones with rotary dials and fabric covered cord. I highly recommend LingQ to anyone self-studying, taking Spanish in school, using a private tutor, or anyone shooting for becoming a polyglot and desiring to learn multiple languages.

### 5/5 — Great app for improving vocabulary and listening comprehension

*2018-07-31*

I’ve learned more Spanish in one month using LingQ than I did in two years of high school Spanish. If you are self motivated and love to read, this is the app for you. Loads of interesting intermediate level materials to choose from that have greatly enhanced my abilities to recognize and remember verb conjugations! No boring, ineffective grammar tables and word lists to memorize. Through reading and listening to the language spoke by natives at a normal speed, you will pick up grammar and meaning through context. I am addicted to this app!

### 5/5 — This app rocks

*2018-05-24*

I have been searching for an app that will help me advance in my Spanish learning. I have to admit that this app has exceeded my expectations. Please keep updating it especially since it doesn’t have enough ebooks.
I have had it for only one day and I am still exploring it so I will update my post once I discover more features.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Chaos

*2026-07-18*

There’s no way to learn anything. Form far exceeds the content. It’s impossible to navigate the lessons, the translations are for individual words, while they don’t make any sense as a whole. There’s no way to both hear the sentence and see what it means. Such a waste of time and money.

### 1/5 — Kostenfreie Version unbrauchbar

*2023-12-03, version 5.4.1*

Im Gegensatz zu anderen Sprachlern-Apps ist LingQ ohne monatliches Abo für 13,99 € unbrauchbar. Man kann einmalig 20 Vokabeln einspeichern und selbst wenn man welche wieder löscht, kann man ab dann nicht einmal mehr neue Vokabeln nachschlagen. Stattdessen erhält man eine Meldung, dass man Premium kaufen soll.

### 2/5 — Mr.

*2025-03-09, version 5.5.61*

There comes a time when learning when it is necessary to ask questions that only a real person can answer and there is no facility here that I can see where this can be done.
The very first question I would ask is , Are your lessons based on The Spanish spoken in , Mexico, Cuba , South America , Spain or somewhere else?
I would not commit to a coarse of lessons without knowing this.

### 2/5 — Excellent Platform; Toxic Forums

*2018-03-15*

I've enjoyed the features LingQ has to offer. But I cannot recommend it to others at this time, because I have watched people called "morons", had their mothers and fathers insulted, and left a dozen bullying comments by unknown users. If it was a one-time thing, that would be a problem with the individual user. The repeat offenses by the same people make it a LingQ platform problem - they go around publicly insulting person after person. Until it's a safe place for people learning, free of playground bullies, I can't recommend it to others. "Kicking a puppy", "fraud", "liar", "fool", "your dad left as a kid", "can't get a job", "your intelligence is lacking": that's the abuse that strangers leave you with on this platform.

### 3/5 — Glitch and mispronunciation

*2026-03-16*

It does not allow me to select the words that are new to me at the end of each lesson. No matter what I select (1. New 2. Recognized…etc) nothing changes and the only way to move forward is to agree that I know all of the words.

Also, in the lesson about Alan Turing, she mispronounces his name every time as Alan TurNing.

### 3/5 — Incorrect Translations

*2025-06-23*

Amazing app but it’s hard to learn a bit bc the english translation is very off in some things like a song said “te comías mis moras” and translated it to “u ate my blackberries” which is wrong bc “comías” refers to something that has happened or is a memory from the past so it would be “you used to eat my berries” and “you ate my berries is “te comiste mis moras” very different “comías” vs “comiste” that is just one example i caught among many so yeah english translation is very off in a lot of the translations it’s actually kinda bad bc it just makes it harder to learn without accurate translations.

**Developer response:** We apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing! I kindly ask you to email support@lingq.com to report this issue and the lesson where you found it. Our team will be glad to assist you further and send it to correction.

### 3/5 — 스페인어 배우기엔 좋아요~

*2020-05-17*

스페인어 배우기엔 좋은데 용량이 없어서 탈퇴하고 싶은데 삭제시켜도 메일로 알람이 와요. 탈퇴하는 방법은 따로 없나요?

### 4/5 — Sehr hilfreich

*2024-01-14, version 5.4.9*

Man kommt etwas schwierig rein, man muss neben der Sprache auch erst den Aufbau des Kurses erlernen. Aber wenn man erst mal drin ist …..

### 4/5 — I really wanted to like this app!!

*2023-03-16*

It has great tools to help someone learn Castilian Spanish, but not from Latin America/Mexico. It does seem like it has some breakdown, but not enough. If you want Castilian Spanish, this is a great app! Otherwise, not so much. If the creators added more Latin American Spanish words, I would 100% subscribe again!

**Developer response:** Thanks for your great review and for the feedback. We offer a filter for European and Latin American Spanish, over time we should increase the amount of filters. Stay tuned!

If you have any other questions, email me at tiagor@lingq.com

### 4/5 — 너무좋은데 본문이 짤려요ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

### 5/5 — Really happy!

*2025-11-16*

Great components for language learning!

### 5/5 — unique and uniquely useful

*2025-09-06*

This app is so useful for language learning. I do have criticisms, e.g., th user interface is confusing and at first overwhelming, i wish it were easier to import whole books and that it were easier to choose the kinds of practice exercises to use. But on the whole this is such a hugely valuable tool.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the great review! We’re happy to know you’re enjoying our app! :)

### 5/5 — This program rocks

*2025-04-01*

I’ve learned a tiny bit of Spanish over the last 40 year. In the last few months of looking at your program though I’d say I’ve gone from beginner to intermediate. Quite remarkable!

**Developer response:** Thanks for your fantastic review! We're happy LingQ is helping you with your language learning goals.

### 5/5 — Worth every penny

*2025-02-04*

I never pay for apps but this one has been well worth the $15 a month subscription.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the wonderful review! Keep up the great work, and recommend LingQ to your friends. :)

### 5/5 — My Favorite App

*2025-01-05*

I’m learning German, Russian and Spanish. LingQ is my favorite app for learning about current events in various countries.

**Developer response:** Amazing! Thank you for the review and happy LingQing :)

### 5/5 — Génial

*2024-12-21*

### 5/5 — Stories with SPR

*2024-10-19*

It’s really a collection of simple stories with space repetition to help you remember the new vocabulary encountered in the stories. It’s based around the comprehensible input theory of language learning.

Takes a little getting used to at first, but once you get familiar with the way the program works, it’s really pretty good and quite enjoyable.

Probably not enough on its own to learn a language for example you might lead a teacher to practice speaking with as well. Mind you, you probably only want to engage your teacher once you have enough vocabulary to actually hold a conversation about something.

### 5/5 — An amazing app/website!

*2024-06-06*

The difference between this and Duolingo is night and day. LingQ in an supura tool for language learning—it’s like language immersion in your pocket.
Duo relies on force—essentially guilting you into language learning. LingQ is for those who know they want to learn already and are imbibe the language as much as possible through heavy exposure.

**Developer response:** Dear user, thank you very much for sharing your valuable & useful feedback. We’re glad you’re enjoying LingQ!

### 5/5 — Amazing resource

*2022-12-17*

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review! We’re glad you’re enjoying learning languages with LingQ!
