For this eye only give 4 stars. ### 4/5 — Useful listening app *2017-02-11, version 3.4* I was looking for something that gave me some Spanish dialogue that I could practice listening and understanding and that wasn't so long that I was behind in the comprehension.This fit the bill for me. I think you need some Spanish knowledge as there is no grammar explanation. Try SpanishSOLO for that. I like the graphics and the content. Very useful for where I am right now with my Spanish. ### 3/5 — Not for kids. At least some of the characters should be children. Show the formal-informal interactions between adults and children. I teach Spanish to 8-10-year-olds, and WILL NOT buy any lessons for them from this app. I have a smart board with an iPad connection, and was hoping to show them some dialogues. I hadn't used it in a year and ran the update to get the latest version thinking the update would be better. Boy was I wrong. I now have only one lesson and they want to charge me another $14.99 to get my old content back. Rip off! What about the original customers that supported this app? You should have accounted for original purchasers of the app. I should not have lost my lessons that I paid for. :-( ### 1/5 — BAD if you wanna know how this really is read it *2013-04-02, version 3.0* This is not good. U need yo buy the full version for 14.99. Each lesson teaches you one simple conversation on one basic topic, the idea being you are supposed to memorize that specific conversation. I.e. You wind up with 30 conversations memorized. I'm afraid I don't consider that learning a language. Pretty upset. ### 1/5 — Terrible App *2010-10-04, version 0* The voices are terrible and the navigation is even worse. You will spend more time clicking the wrong buttons--because the layout is too cluttered and the links small--and trying to navigate back to where you were, that you won't learn a thing. Again, no simple back button during the lessons? On top of that, the second practice lessons require you to join their even more poorly designed website. Had I known that, I would have avoided this purchase. Considering their poor understandings of layout, design and interaction, I can't see how this company is anywhere adequate enough to be providing this type of application. An utter, and total fraud. ### 1/5 — Won't launch-- just crashes *2010-07-18, version 0* I used the previous version once and really liked it, but then I installed the update and it crashes and won't launch. This is the update that was supposed to fix the launch problems. Très bonne app. Je la recommande sans hésitation! ### 5/5 — Good teaching methodology and great value app *2013-10-23, version 3.0* Having purchased a number of language learning courses, I found the Hello-Hello Spanish app to be a great value. Comparing this app to the Rosetta Stone CD on which I spent several hundred dollars, I was very pleased to see such a thoughtful approach to language learning right on my iPad and for a much better price. Having the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages participate in the development of this app gives me comfort that I am learning Spanish in a way that languages are taught. The fact that this app has been developed in conjunction with language learning experts is quite apparent as you go through the lessons and look at the methodology. There are 30 in-depth lessons with full conversations. These conversations are then taught sentence-by-sentence. Then, the main words is these sentences are taught along with a number of words that are similar to that word. In addition to lessons, the flashcards are nicely presented and further reinforce words...
