### 4/5 — A Rare Resource

There are not many ways to learn Swahili, so this is a precious resource. I work in a wildlife park, so the animal and nature vocabulary is gold.

### 4/5 — Nice App to Learn the Mother Tongue…

*2019-09-16*

Liking the app so far, learning the mother tongue of Afrika and speaking it back through voice memos makes it fun to do, tryna learn as much as possible so I can speak something other than the Queen’s English. Keep it up, much appreciated, the voice is definitely an Afrikan woman which makes it 10x better all over. Thanks again, keep up the good work.

### 5/5 — Great so far

*2017-01-20*

Just recently started to use. Helps me when I see my Swahili friends. I'm able to say a greeting in their language. Trying to add a new phrase each time I see them.

### 5/5 — Well worth the upgrade.

*2016-06-23*

This is a fantastic app! Try out the free version first and I think you will agree, the $9.99 to upgrade is well worth it. Not only does it speak the word, but in many cases gives spoken common phrases or sentences using that word.

### 5/5 — DD

*2016-05-21, version 4.8*

This app is perfect for conducting business in Nairobi

### 5/5 — Catagories

*2016-04-19, version 4.8*

I love how they've made flash cards, a word of the week, and a word quiz! No wonder this app has five stars.

### 5/5 — Nice

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Mbaya

*2014-04-01, version 4.1.1*

A lot of these words are incorrect.

### 1/5 — Very bad

*2014-02-25, version 4.1.1*

This app is 425MB in size with a measly 2.3MB in Documents & Data. Can anyone say "horrible software engineering"?Need to learn to utilize the space more efficiently.

### 1/5 — Crap

*2013-04-21, version 4.0*

Can't do anything at all without upgrading to the full version for $9.99.........DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!!!

### 1/5 — Wasted my time

*2012-07-28*

Why say it is free and waste people's time. It gives only one word and asks you immediately to upgrade. How can i judge the worth of the program with only one one. Your strategy ruined any goodness in the program. Deleted it and may recheck if there is an attitude change

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2012-06-15*

Waste of a download! Only one word and the audio doesn't work.

### 1/5 — I

*2012-01-05, version 3.2*

Very limited content. Poor word choices. Taping audio does not work. Would not recommend.

### 1/5 — Kenyan

*2011-05-13*

It would be better if the app sent everyday words first before phrases.
Eg. Sit, stand, come, go... Only then can one begin to form phrases and words.

### 1/5 — Very slow to get anywhere!

*2011-03-06, version 2.4*

The app starts with zero words and you have to MANUALLY add new ones at the rate of 1 per day.
You need to start with a basic vocab and then automatically add new words phrases.

Better free apps around and this is in serious danger of being deleted from my iPad!!

### 1/5 — Word power

*2011-02-27, version 2.4*

Crap

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2011-02-13, version 2.4*

This app has only 1 word.

### 5/5 — Effective

*2019-03-22*

This app makes the learning process quite effective by combining visual, kinesthetic and auditory input to every word and phrase being presented.

### 5/5 — Communicating with my boyfriend

*2018-10-20*

If my Kenyan boyfriend can understand me this app is definitely ding some justice. I’m learning from scratch and doing very well.

### 5/5 — If you don’t use it, you lose it.

*2018-08-11*

Absolutely LOVE the word of the day! Keeps me active when I’m too busy to study. The course levels not only give me accomplishments but I feel like I’m studying and someone is teaching me in a strategic way opposed to myself. Great ‘push’ and motivation. Reminds me of when I was originally learning. It’s revived my love to it and I have something to interact with.

### 5/5 — Who Are You?

*2018-05-25*

This is a part of me. My language and I’m proud to say I’ve spoke. English all my life but this have motivated me to learn my language.

### 5/5 — Really great app

*2018-05-23*

I really like it and it’s really simple to use the app to learn Swahili for when I go to Kenya
