It's especially fun to use on an iPad with a pen to practice my calligraphy. I really appreciate that we can practice each class of letters separately and with different fonts. Loving the recent visual overhaul too. Well worth paying for the pro version. My only wish would be to have cross-device progress (have the same progress carry over between my iPad and my iPhone, for example). I wish it would have a search - if I could search on the fly for the Thai or the English word that I need. It would make all the difference. I use this app non stop. This App has been brilliant. Now it’s horrendous! Nö! ### 1/5 — WARNING - Do NOT update the APP! *2025-05-13* This used to be one of the best Apps for learning how to write Thai but not anymore. What used to be a clean and free App has now turned into a nightmare cluttered with ads and so annoying and distracting that you can’t use the App properly anymore without paying. So DO NOT update if you have an older version on your device. You don’t get more value by updating! And you have to pay now (There was no warning for me!) Instantly deleted it as there are better free apps out there. ### 2/5 — Il manque peu pour être parfaite *2024-09-19, version 1.11.8* L’application pourrait être de loin la meilleure mais il manque 2 choses qui pour moi est indispensable et rend l’expérience gâchée. 1st: l’utilisation des filtres est trop filtranté impossible de filtrer plusieurs choses, par exemple avoir les voyelles et consonnes ensembles, un peu dommage, c’est tout ou rien … 2nd: beaucoup plus handicapant, la section exercice est génial’ avec les explications très utiles ! Mais pourquoi c’est infos ne sont elles dispos que dans ce mode ? Le mode exercices n’a pas de filtres et c’est ce qui rend cette superbe application quasi inutilisable pour moi. a mon niveau je connais tout les consonnants, je souhaite apprendre les vowels, mais en mode exercice impossible de n’avoir que les vowels, et du coup impossible d’avoir accès à l’onglet information pour apprendre les vowels. pourtant il ne s’agit que de coder les filtres de façon plus utiles, l’application a déjà tout pour être parfaite mais les filtres sont mal fait, et le mode exercice n’a aucun filtres. ### 3/5 — Amazing but handwriting lets it down *2025-04-06, version 2.2.2* Learning the script is amazing in this app. It really helps with my spelling and everything. But learning individual characters with handwriting is painful. There’s often too many hints and the handwriting recognition completely fails on occasion, leading to frustrating situations of a fail even though it was written perfectly. ### 4/5 — Some letters can’t be traced *2026-07-12, version 3.0.14* At first some of the issues with some character tracing problems preventing progress turned me off from using this app. I hope the developers will fix these problems. I started using the app again for the vocabulary learning instead and found it to be quite helpful. The only problem is on the multiple choice list the font is so tiny it’s hard to distinguish the letters, they appear really small in the centre on the big screen. It would be great if the app could be updated so the font on the list multiple choice is bigger. The ability to have flash cards in my pocket and drill all of the characters in various ways has been INVALUABLE. I tried lots of methods to absorb this, but this is the only one that really got the alphabet and basic words to stick. I wish I could write my own “transliteration” for each character because I don’t think some of the sounds are correctly described using the Roman alphabet (to me, at least), but otherwise it’s great!! ### 5/5 — Amazing App *2025-12-14, version 3.0.13* After trying to learn Thai on and off again for the past few years, this is the app that allowed me to really take the plunge.
