### 4/5 — Good but

*2023-07-18*

Looks like a great app but some code don't run and crashes with an exception (e.g. loading iris data in Basic principles section). Otherwise 5 stars.

### 4/5 — Great resource with room for improvement

*2022-02-03*

The app appears to not be optimised for M1 - my 11” iPad Pro runs very warm when running the app. Otherwise, a pretty great resource for programmers new to Python and those with experience behind them. My only wish is the app was more “hands on” - make the reader solve the problems with code they’ve written, rather than feeding all the answers to be revealed with just a tap.

### 5/5 — Learning Code Made Easy

*2022-01-30*

Never had a better intro into learning the syntax of coding. Great App.

### 5/5 — Gorgeous and easy

*2022-01-19*

Very pretty on my iPad, easy to use, great examples

### 5/5 — GREAT app for learning Python

*2022-01-16*

What an awesome app. Great tool for learning Python scripting. Clear and well written text and the ability to execute code examples while reading. 10 stars.

### 5/5 — Simple and perfect to quickly understand Python

*2022-01-12*

The text is simple to read and tricky differences are highlighted and pointed out.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2022-01-10*

I can’t believe this is free. I already previously purchased the developers Juno Apps which I can recommend highly.

If I could make one recommendation > it would be nice if the lessons would allow highlighting similar to iBooks.

### 5/5 — Easy to Understand

*2022-01-09*

I think this is the most important thing in this app that it is easy to understand and follow along .

### 5/5 — Incredible for a bioinformatician learning ML

*2022-01-09*

I came across this app on Reddit and decided to give it a go. It is beautifully designed. It is easy to navigate and simple to use. Everything just works; exerting looks and feels like a first party app. This app is efficient with no bloat, requires no sign ups or accounts, and UI navigation is instant. All around excellent for a junior bioinformatician with limited python and no ML experience. This app sets a high new standard for programming on iPad.

### 5/5 — Clean and effective!

*2022-01-09*

Following in Swift Playgrounds footsteps, this app is laid out in simple, approachable lessons. Excited to work my way through all the lessons!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No interaction. Just text

*2025-11-19*

I don’t see the point. How do you learn by only reading a bunch of text and a code example, you don’t even break down the code.

### 1/5 — Looks great but unusable

*2025-06-06*

Plenty of storage and working internet on my devices but I keep getting an error claiming that is not the case. I’m unable to download any lessons.

### 1/5 — Crashes on opening on M4 IPad Pro

*2024-06-21*

Keeps crashing on new M4 IPad Pro

**Developer response:** This likely happens because of restoring from backup—please, delete the app from device and reinstall again from the App Store. This will be fixed in the next release; apologies for inconvenience meanwhile. 😔

### 1/5 — No es gratis

*2024-01-10, version 2.0.1*

Está dividida en secciones y hay que pagar para habilitar c/una.

### 1/5 — Who Knows

*2023-09-28*

Down loaded this. But found you have to buy who knows how many labs. In addition there is no clear starting point. It almost feels like a scam. Just say the total price and be done with it. Looks nicely done but I gave up because I could not find the starting point

**Developer response:** Hey 👋 — you can purchase individual labs and/or series you are interested in, but I do plan to add a single purchase to unlock all content in the app, too. Stay tuned—meanwhile, you may want to check out some of the free series and labs available in Tinkerstellar.

### 2/5 — What is going on with the wrong wrong?

*2026-06-17*

So you can make it so that it doesn’t take so much time when you press the run code

### 2/5 — Crashes in iPadOS 18

*2024-12-25*

The app is a very good source to learn Python offline. However it starts crashing at the launch since IPadOS 18. There is no update for a very long time. It does not seem this app is well maintained.

### 2/5 — Crashes on Apple Vision Pro

*2024-02-29*

Tried the make random stuff note book to see what it’s like. Just crashes if I rerun code.

### 3/5 — Ok

*2023-08-01*

I like the lessons except there isn’t graded exercises

### 3/5 — Hidden Payments

*2023-07-30*

Would be nicer if you had a clear menu of all the areas to purchase in one package rather than having to search through and find each one.

**Developer response:** Hey 👋 — you can purchase individual labs and/or series you are interested in, but I do plan to add a single purchase to unlock all content in the app, too. Stay tuned!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The best Python learning app!

*2025-10-25*

Such a fun and intuitive way to learn Python! The lessons are clear, hands-on, and work perfectly offline — great for learning anywhere. The interface is smooth, minimal, and beautifully designed. I’ve tried many coding apps, but this one truly stands out for how thoughtfully it’s built. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-06-06*

Literally one of the best apps out there to learn not only Python, but Machine Learning and other stuff. I love it!

### 5/5 — Absolutely Wonderful For Beginners!

*2025-04-14*

Wonderfully designed. Easy to understand format and instructions. Very easy to follow with examples and explanations. Highly recommend! Some classes cost a little money, none that I have seen cost more than $2.99. That $2.99 gets you a full course of classes that instructs you on entire concepts within and about python coding. Companies need to make a little money for what they create and for the quality of this product I think the price that they are asking for, for these courses, is incredibly cheap.

### 5/5 — Crashes in iPadOS 18 (fixed)

*2025-04-02*

The app is a very good source to learn Python offline. However it starts crashing at the launch since IPadOS 18. The fix is to uninstall the app completely, then reinstall it.

**Developer response:** This likely happens because of restoring from backup—please, delete the app from device and reinstall again from the App Store. This will be fixed in the next release; apologies for inconvenience meanwhile. 😔

### 5/5 — Excellent for the beginner or the prodigal programmer

*2024-08-23*

I’m using Tinkerstellar to relearn Python as I’m going into graduate school, and so far it has proven to be an absolutely invaluable resource. Tutorials are lucid and clear, and the breadth of topics available is astounding. Absolutely worth the time and money.

### 5/5 — Simple bite sized lessons

*2023-07-27*

I'm currently revisiting my Python knowledge from my school days. This app is ideal for that - simple, intuitive with a bunch of clear and well written interactive tutorials. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Great app for learning ML

*2022-12-04*

Very well designed lessons makes learning so much easier. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Great for reviewing key python concept

*2022-03-04*

The app contains well written content. In addition the in app ability to run code is great.

### 5/5 — Just install it already

*2022-02-14*

Great tool for beginners or those just refreshing their python skills.

### 5/5 — Simply awesome. Humans being bro’s.

*2022-02-05*
