### 4/5 — Read with record voice

*2026-08-30*

Liked this app for my child but if only it upgraded to voice when it comes to,”sound letters and following read before going to the next stage to prove the child is actually passing without the parent once in awhile.

### 5/5 — Reading.com is such a blessing!

*2026-08-25, version 5.11.69*

My 7yr old just started 2nd grade last week and has always been behind in reading despite showing capabilities and knowledge of his letters and sounds. I’ve tried multiple programs in the past - this is the first one he wants to do, he’s eager to put in the work and do the lessons! The hope it’s he’ll catch up to his peers this first grading period and continue to love reading! Can’t thank the creators of this ap enough!

### 5/5 — Granddaughter loves her job of learning phonics

*2026-08-24, version 5.11.69*

"My granddaughter loves to play the phonics game. She is two and a half and is already sounding out two letters together. The alphabet song is very catchy too. "

### 5/5 — Reading. Yeah!!

*2026-08-24, version 5.11.69*

I really saw the benefit in reading.com once we started our scholastic Bob books advancing beginners series. My daughter is five years old and the reading and writing was so much easier and fluid with a combination of Reading.com. The way of breaking down letters, words, the use of phonics, sound stories, reading comprehension, etc. it’s been an invaluable tool and I am so grateful. it’s so easy to use and my daughter’s confidence has skyrocketed. And the layout is just adorable! And the games are a delightful added treat to this learning app. My daughter loves the interactive home screen as well. It’s fabulous!

### 5/5 — Excellent progress thanks to the app

*2026-08-24, version 5.11.69*

My child has been using the app for some time now and it really helps. She has come so far since starting. She was falling behind and is all caught up thanks to her using the app 5 times a week. I love it!

### 5/5 — Highly recommend!

*2026-08-23, version 5.11.69*

I was skeptical before getting the app, but after working with my 5 year old I have to say, THIS APP IS AMAZING! He started kindergarten and is testing at a second grade reading level. This app, paired with reading together daily, has taught him to read this year. I can’t wait to start with my daughter soon!

### 5/5 — Unable to slide letters

*2026-08-21, version 5.11.69*

One of the big features is to slide letters and words to sound them out. However sliding the letters does not play the sound.

Edit: sorry I misunderstood the feature. The app is great otherwise.

### 5/5 — I love it 🥰 and it makes me feel so happy 😁

*2026-08-21*

It’s a great way to start reading 💕💕

### 5/5 — Absolute best reading app

*2026-08-20, version 5.11.69*

This app is excellent and it taught my daughter to read hands-down

### 5/5 — Absolutely worth it

*2026-08-20, version 5.11.69*

As a homeschooling mom, we were struggling to grasp reading. This app is fun, and my son is such a strong reader now!! Highly recommend!!

### 5/5 — Worked great for my 5.5 year old!

*2026-08-19, version 5.11.69*

The app is structured as 120 lessons to do with a parent, with some bonus content like games and printables. Each lesson took us about 10-15 minutes.

The lessons take a direct instruction approach - every few lessons a new ‘sound’ is introduced, along with the corresponding letter or letter combo. Then you practice reading some words with the new sound, and, in the later lessons, a short book. Digraphs (e.g. ‘sh’, ‘ck’, ‘ea’) get their own special diacritic marks, which really helps with fluency and confidence in sounding out words.

It really seemed to “click” for my kid about lesson 60 and he started asking me on his own if we could do “reading game”.

### 4/5 — My name i am mallie and I am five and

*2026-08-19, version 5.11.69*

I rate this out of five

### 5/5 — My 3-Year Old Can Read Books!!

*2026-08-18, version 5.11.69*

I can’t recommend reading.com enough! I started using this program with my three-year-old shortly after he turned three and now he’s approaching 3 1/2 and he’s already reading and what’s considered a kindergarten level. He’s my first of three boys so I use the time while the younger boys are napping to spend about 20 minutes with him. It’s phonics based and I love that it teaches the parent how to teach reading. It’s easy to follow fun for the kids and has made such a difference in just a few months. I recommend it to all my friends!

### 5/5 — Game changer

*2026-08-16, version 5.11.54*

This has been a game changer for my son. He was already able to pronounce letters phonetically, but he started blending them on his own after practicing on reading.com after just 2 levels

### 5/5 — The best app to help

*2026-08-15, version 5.11.54*

Love Reading .com! My granddaughter went from below grade level reading to passing the state reading test. She loved this app. Helped also with her spelling and writing. She is in the third grade this year and there is no longer tears when she is reading. Highly recommend this app.

### 5/5 — The best app ever

*2026-08-14, version 5.11.54*

I’m really happy to see the progress of my kids, the young ones 3 when started it. He’s 4 yo and he can read on his own. I love this app. 100%.

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2026-08-14, version 5.11.54*

This is a pretty perfect app for learning! I love that it has a timer for shifting activities and games to play that support learning.

### 4/5 — Great reading app!

*2026-08-13, version 5.11.54*

It’s engaging and exciting for my daughter. She is actually the one asking me everyday to do her next lesson. The way every lesson is explained is really clicking well with her.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Boring

*2026-08-29, version 5.11.72*

A one year-old can say it by their self

### 1/5 — To repetitive

*2026-08-29, version 5.11.72*

The activities are very repetitive and my daughter was very bored doing it. It’s always the same with different letters.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-08-10, version 5.11.47*

Lessons are so slow. The sliders don’t make any noise to help the child. Needs parent to input codes every 2 seconds. Wants you to listen to their useless 5 minute alphabet song every lesson

### 1/5 — Slow

*2026-07-23, version 5.10.91*

It’s slow so kids get bored

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-07-23, version 5.10.91*

I signed up for a free trial to see how this app would work for my daughter. I canceled my free trial BEFORE I was supposed to be charged and I was still charged $13. This app is not worth that. And they will not refund me my money.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2026-07-21, version 5.10.91*

The app requires for the parent to do this the kid 100% of the time.

### 1/5 — Too much

*2026-07-17*

Too much price for subscription, doesn’t make any sense 😡😡😡😡

**Developer response:** We hear you—price matters, especially for something you're adding to the family budget, and we're sorry it feels like too much. Your feedback on this goes straight to our team. If the cost is a barrier or you have questions about your plan or options, please reach out at support@reading.com—we'd genuinely like to help.

### 1/5 — Maybe ok for neurotypical kids…

*2026-07-07, version 5.10.64*

This is not the app for a kid with severe ADHD. The lessons were good, but the games being never ending is awful. We used it three times at less than 20 minutes per time before my daughter’s behavior afterwards was unbearable. The games are built to be addictive and it will have a negative effect on kids that already struggle with boundaries.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-06-30, version 5.10.49*

When I come to any service for assistance, I’m expecting to see measurable results. This app did not provide that. I don’t believe my child skill level was considered at all in time was truly wasted on each lesson. I don’t feel my child walked away having learned anything, they didn’t already come knowing. If you’re looking for something challenging, especially for children that may struggle with ADHD this isn’t it

### 1/5 — Subscription

*2026-06-02*

I have subscribed for one year and paid. Money has gone out of my account however, when i try to log in it keeps coming as not subscribed.

Emailed on customer care but no response. Please help

**Developer response:** We're so sorry — being charged and then locked out is incredibly frustrating, and you deserve a prompt response from our team. Please email support@reading.com with the email on your account, and we'll look into your subscription and get your access restored. In the meantime, tapping "Restore Purchases" on the login screen of the device you purchased with can sometimes resolve this. We'll make it right!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — This app is awesome

*2026-08-31*

It really taught my child how to read before he went to first grade! He is such a fast reader. I recommend it

### 5/5 — Great app for learning

*2026-08-31, version 5.11.72*

Reading.com makes reading to my five-year-old son so much easier. What a great app. He loves it and so do I…10 out of 10.

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2026-08-30, version 5.11.72*

My son started reading almost immediately after downloading this app. It was worth every penny. He’s the most advanced student in his class.

### 5/5 — Worth It

*2026-08-30, version 5.11.72*

Skeptical at first because my son has the attention span of a goldfish but he was ecstatic about completing his first lesson. I was surprised that he actually retained the information after such short lessons.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-08-29*

My 4&5 year old love this app. It is fun and easy for us to do the lessons together. The alphabet song is a new favorite in our house

### 5/5 — Helpful phonics style and game based

*2026-08-28, version 5.11.72*

Seems like it follows the 100 easy lessons methods of phonics teaching, provides supportive and fun games, and engaging books. I use this alongside our physical reading curriculum. It provides a lot of good support and follows similar paths to some of the most popular homeschool curriculum. I started her on this when she was in school, but we didn’t do it super consistently. So although it was helpful, the consistency is really what pushed her forward. When I brought her home, we started a reading curriculum and use this to support her learning in a fun way, and break up the monotony of the same style of lessons every day. She’s currently on lesson 82 and has shown significant improvements.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-08-28, version 5.11.72*

Amazing program my two year-old is picking up the skills and is already blending. Sounds

### 5/5 — Absolutely the best

*2026-08-27, version 5.11.72*

I’m so happy we have this! It’s such a great tool my children love it. I’m teaching my second reader to read now with this program.

### 5/5 — Wow!!!

*2026-08-25, version 5.11.72*

My granddaughter is having so much fun with this program! Frankly, so is this Grandma!!! Since switching from another program only three weeks ago we are reading more words independently and recognizing more sight words!Thank you Reading.com!!!

### 5/5 — I love this app for beginners

*2026-08-25, version 5.11.72*

This app really helps my sister read . It will get challenging but it helps her journey .
