The spaced repetition is great, and the format of the questions is good. The voice recognition isn’t good. It’s tuned to listen for multiple languages, and doesn’t understand certain correctly said words (i have confirmed my pronunciations with Google Translate and my Vietnamese girlfriend. Additionally, some of the pronunciations that it has are incorrect (it pronounces “phở as “phồ”. When i use this app in front of Vietnamese people (in West Vietnam specifically) they shake their heads and say it’s wrong. Honestly, a new API for the voice (app spoken and human recognition) would make this app great. ### 5/5 — Very good for daily practice *2026-03-31* Been using podglot everyday for the past few months. It has helped me retain and expand my vocabulary. I tried duolingo and other vietnamese apps before but had issues with awkward sentence examples and random unimportant words.
