### 3/5 — Voice recognition needs work

*2026-04-04*

I like the format of the training. The spaced repetition is great, and the format of the questions is good. The voice recognition isn’t good. It’s tuned to listen for multiple languages, and doesn’t understand certain correctly said words (i have confirmed my pronunciations with Google Translate and my Vietnamese girlfriend. Additionally, some of the pronunciations that it has are incorrect (it pronounces “phở as “phồ”. When i use this app in front of Vietnamese people (in West Vietnam specifically) they shake their heads and say it’s wrong. Honestly, a new API for the voice (app spoken and human recognition) would make this app great.

### 5/5 — first time my asian parents have been proud of me

jk lol but genuinely I’ve been using this app for the past week or so & I already feel it’s helped me improve significantly in my viet. there’s enough features to feel robust without feeling overwhelming, and I especially love the way lessons are formatted in the app. they’re short, convenient and feel satisfying to complete while still requiring active recall. it’s hard to believe how much it offers while being entirely free. i feel there are very few resources for learning viet,
especially the southern accent, which is why i really wanted to leave a review to support this app :) i tried to leave a review a few days ago, but it didn’t work :’) so hopefully this one goes through. yay for small creators!

### 5/5 — So good

*2026-06-04*

Flashcards are nice and especially like writing feature

### 5/5 — Very good for daily practice

*2026-03-31*

Been using podglot everyday for the past few months. It has helped me retain and expand my vocabulary. I tried duolingo and other vietnamese apps before but had issues with awkward sentence examples and random unimportant words. Podglot uses high frequency words and also supports southern dialect which makes its very excellent for my needs
