The company has been extremely helpful with any issues and have gone out of their way to add features to accommodate our program. They are always accepting of feedback and working to improve their product to benefit families, while also making life easier for staff. The software is easily navigating and works to keep parents engaged with program! Would recommend Learning Genie to anyone! ### 5/5 — Great tool for preschool teachers *2018-09-04* Learning Genie has been a great tool for teachers at our preschool center. I really appreciate having one software for both keeping parents informed and assessing children (California DRDPs). Also, it is easy to use in smartphones and tablets, which is really helpful for taking notes and photos about children's learning processes at any time during the school day. ### 5/5 — Great app for home daycare *2016-08-24* What a wonderful app for daycare. Wish I had found this earlier! You can add each child to your classroom and create their report using this app. Add in pictures and 20sec of video. Enter the diaper changes, meals, snacks, naps, activities, mood, and even create a portfolio on each child and record their progress over time. Parents can download the parent app and see, in real time, what they are doing...what a great function! My wish list for this app: 1. Have the function to sign in and out each child at the beginning/end of each day. 2. Enter children's birthdays and other important info...eg. Days they come, parents names, address, phone number, email. 3. The camera button on the report tab doesn't add a picture to the report...wish that would work. All in all, love this app. The format and layout are so easy to understand. I have gotten rid of my old app for reports and will use Learning Genie from now on. I use the app daily to report what we are doing in each subject area, any homework reminders, pictures of daily activities and projects, the students' eating habits, and special comments about each student. It is very easy to use and the parents love being kept in the loop about what we do in school. It is exactly what I was looking for: something to give my families at the school an insight into what their child does at school during the day. Highly recommend! ### 5/5 — Not working *2016-03-17, version 3.2.2* This app is not working on iPods ### 4/5 — Great for DRDP portfolios! *2016-03-09, version 3.2* I work with 25 teachers who all love this app. It is a great way to organize and tag DRDP observations. Observations can be tagged to multiple children and multiple measures and the reports tell you what measures you have observed and or rated. The best thing! Teachers can rate right in the app. For teachers they can complete the DRDP from start to finish using the app and then I uploaded all of their ratings into DRDPtech. Completed DRDPs can be emailed or printed out for families.If you are done with lots of paper and sticky notes and wasted time organizing then Learning Genie is for you! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Super glitchy *2025-10-07* the app is super glitchy. At first I thought it was the school site internet. But then asked colleagues and came to the reviews and saw it’s not. It’s overwhelming. I’ll be working on an observation or drdp and it glitches. Very annoying. And I see it’s been happening for years not just recent. I wouldn’t use the app if it weren’t required ### 1/5 — Unfortunately not able to edit text. *2025-03-05* What I don’t like about this app is not able to edit text & erase the mistake. I have to re-do it & type it again a few times. Not able to copy or paste. Not very helpful when their are more parents asking the same questions over or re-doing the same questions or answers. Also i used to double spacing and hitting the return button. Instead of hitting the return button and you cannot undo the things that you wrote or rewrite not able to copy and paste that is a problem it’s really frustrating And annoying. Please fix These things. ASAP. ### 1/5 — So sad! Messaging option gone *2023-01-02* I’ve been using this app happily for 4 years. This would have been a 5 star review during that time, but the messaging to parents option has disappeared and now I’m sadly going to have to find a new app to use. Not being able to send our batch notices is a huge negative for me. Such a bummer. ### 1/5 — Fix Messages!!! *2020-12-03* The messages do not sync when logging in with different devices. It shows I have a message from a parent on my laptop but not on my phone. And then sometimes it doesnt even show any past messages. Also it does not show what day a message was sent, it only shows the time. Please fox the chat option asap! ### 2/5 — DRDPs are too close together *2025-10-03* As an educator I have a a Complaint why are the DRDP like in row . When looking at all of them one by one. When they should be in their own columns in squares. In ABC order. Who ever design. The drdps where it shows the arrow going up. Need some common advise from teacher who been in the field for a long time . Make it easier for us teachers and aides. To observe and make changes in a fast pace. ### 2/5 — A necessary evil. *2025-04-11* This app can be so annoying and finicky to use. Always freezes when I need to post updates to the Engagement and Portfolio tabs. I only use it because our school requires it, otherwise I wouldn’t even bother with it. At least it makes contacting parents a bit easier. Two stars for that. ### 2/5 — Fix messages *2022-05-01* When selecting a child’s chats message box it takes you to another child I have sent so many messages to incorrect children because you can’t tell until it refreshes. ### 2/5 — Chats *2022-03-12* When selecting a kids chat thread, it constantly takes me to another child’s chat thread. The app is slow and posts are organized by category and not by being put on the child’s page in real time which would be more beneficial. ### 2/5 — Bugs *2019-08-19* I would definitely change the rating once the bugs are fixed with this app. I love everything that this app is about especially the DRDp portion, however the main part of the app which is messaging parents is not appearing. I can see messages from parents but I’m now able to reply because of a glitch! The messaging bar will not appear on my phone. I just did the update to fix some bugs but it’s still not working for me. I have an Iphine 8 iOS 12.4 ### 3/5 — Glitches *2020-09-04* To many glitches.
