Also having errors when attempting to install the macOS software too. For such an expensive piece of rig, I’m sure having a rough time with the software working on the first day. :/ ### 1/5 — Doesn't work *2021-11-15, version 1.50* This is very poorly designed and doesn't work. The websites even all push for it to be used with iOS. It should work better here than anywhere else! I must say I was excited to get it. But as soon I connected to the app it was horrible. The volume on the guitar is super loud even when I turn it down it sounds distorted. The string sounds will resonate for a long time to the point that it drowns out the next chord you play. You can’t download a “normal” sounding guitar because they are all very electronic sounding and useless. Also the Jamstik+7 itself is very unresponsive and not natural feeling when you strum it. It will only pick up some strings and skip others. What a shame because I wanted to like it. The mute button doesn’t work the guitar strings substantial long it’s just horrible. It keeps freezing up, then it has to be deleted and reinstalled about every third time ### 1/5 — Bad UI and background battery drain *2021-04-21, version 1.48* The UI needs an overhaul by an experienced iOS developer, but the major fault this app has it it drains battery in the background, while not allowing the user to disable background activity. It is probably doing this to allow sound to be produced while switching to other apps but after I had switched off my Jamstik the app drained the phone battery for another 19 hours according to the battery app. This type of background activity is not allowed and will get apps removed from the App Store typically. Nope, whatever the ‘fixes’ were they had nothing to do with not being able to navigate past putting your email in. It is the best tool to learn guitar chords. The App is not very user friendly, and the design is horrible (text overflows buttons, switches by themself to portrait mode, navigation is confusing, some settings not really understandable). Question: In the „learn chords“ view i can restart the current session straight from my jamstik thanks to the d-pad navigation. Unfortunately it does not exists from the practice view. I have always to go back to the dashboard and select the combination of chords that i want to practice. There are two buttons navigating me to the dashboard, labeled „choose excercise“, one could be reused to restart the current practice session. Also: it would be awesome if i could to create a list of chords that i want to practice instead of have all the learned chords or a hard coded list of chords (kind of a playlist) ### 3/5 — Why stopped working after your latest update *2021-04-04, version 1.48* Why stopped working after your latest update ### 3/5 — A good utility, but could be improved *2021-03-26, version 1.47* I’m using this app with the Jamstik Studio MIDI Guitar. The app serves its purpose to adjust settings, but the interface could be improved. Forced landscape orientation is really awkward, especially if you’re switching apps on the phone. It also inexplicably switches to portrait on the Edit Profile screen. It’d be nice to have a faster way to switch midi channels, like the shortcuts common on many midi keyboards. The other midi settings with -/+ adjustment work well. I don’t use the app for the learning/practice portion, so I can’t comment on it. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2025-05-14, version 2.8* Was hoping for a small portable practice instrument. Only option on iPad is to create an account via email address, but you cannot create a password when prompted…only get a blue box with no input. I bought it because i wanted to use it Bluetooth on my iPad which is not working well without connecting it on a computer before ! Something’s wrong with the Bluetooth system on the guitar or a maybe a serious update to do on the iOS software cause most of the buttons and settings doesn’t work well at all !!
