Yay! Definitely five stars now, and an indispensable resource for Russian learners. *** This app covers both nouns and adjectives, singular and plural. That is is so unusual among Russian language learning apps, and has proven invaluable in my study of Russian. Unfortunately, the app doesn’t work perfectly on my iPhone 13 Mini—sometimes the bottommost answer is cut off, making it impossible to select. Despite that, it’s still terrific, and I can push past my occasional annoyance. ### 1/5 — Too difficult , don’t recommend *2025-08-01* Not sure what level of learner this is meant to be for, but I’m A2 and the questions and examples all use unnecessarily difficult words- which makes focusing on the grammar very difficult. For example, the app uses words like ‘results’, ‘nightingdale’, and ‘creek.’ Why not use simpler words, like ‘answers’, ‘bird’, and ‘river’?? Before every exercise, you get a huge wall of text ‘explaining’ the grammar- it’s just way too much information. And the information isn’t very helpful when it comes to the actual exercises- especially since I don’t know all of the words. Also, the app doesn’t give the correct answer if you get a question wrong and you only have 3 lives per round (I paid for the app, why do I only get three lives???). Let me see the mistake in time. This app is not designed well and clearly not made by real language teachers. Don’t waste your money. **Developer response:** Привет, sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy the app. Our app focuses on the Russian case system (it’s in the name!) and teaches how to apply declension rules to any word — even new ones. Picking up extra vocabulary is a bonus, not a bug, and there is content for learners of all abilities. We’ve structured the material into 38 bite-sized lessons to avoid overwhelming with too many rules all at once. Some learners prefer shorter explanations, others want more detail, and we refine that balance based on feedback. Just to clarify: the app does show correct answers in the review section, and the 3 lives are part of the challenge mechanic. You can restart anytime or unlock all lessons from Settings. A big update is coming in the next few weeks will also show correct answers right after each question — thanks for that suggestion. And yes — we’re an Anglo-Russian husband-and-wife team and real language teachers (I’m English and TEFL-qualified, my wife is a native Russian teacher). We understand Russian cases from the perspectives of both teachers and learners. We really appreciate your feedback and will keep improving the app for learners at all levels. ### 1/5 — Horrible rigged app *2024-08-20* This app is garbage, worst Russian learning app I’ve ever seen. They don’t explain well how the cases work. They’re teaching it wrong. But, your 1* review, claiming that we're "teaching it wrong" (with no explanation) doesn't feel like a genuine product review. ### 3/5 — Question about content *2024-03-08* Alright, so I love the format of this app and I really, really want to use it, but on the first test I have some questions… several of your answers I don’t understand. You have дети as masculine which seems impossible because it’s plural. There are 2 other questions out of the 10 I don’t get. Am I missing something? Am I not right about this? Just answer me back and clarify. Thanks! ### 5/5 — Best app for learning the case system! *2024-03-03* Most language apps do a very poor job of explaining the Russian cases. However, this app gives written explanations with examples of each of the cases and then quizzes you. The quizzes are short (10 or so questions) and broken down by sections on the masculine, feminine, neuter, and plural forms. Each section can be done multiple times with different questions each time. For $2.99 this is an absolute hidden gem! ### 5/5 — Perfect for learning cases *2024-02-11* This inexpensive app is great for learning cases. You will need some prior knowledge of basic grammar and some vocab, but if you are at the point where you are learning cases, you should already have a basic foundation. The lessons are easy to understand and well written. The questions are the best part. They aren’t too easy or too hard. You have to look at the overall structure of the sentence to figure them out and if you repeat the lesson, the questions are different so you can’t just “figure it out” by doing it a bunch of times. Honestly, this app is more for people who are serious about learning the language as opposed to just playing around on Duolingo.
