## What is Lectio?

Lectio is a calm Bible reader designed around reading paths — short, guided
journeys through Scripture that replace the chapter index with a clear next
step. Pick a path, get one short reading a day, mark it complete, and keep
your streak.

Why Lectio?

Most Bible apps either bury you in features or sit you in a social feed.
Lectio does the opposite: one screen for today, four soft themes, beautiful
serif typography, and nothing pulling you back to scroll. Calmer than a feed.
Clearer than a chapter index.

Six bundled reading paths
• The Four Gospels in 30 Days — your first read through Jesus.
• The Story in 40 Days — a 40-day arc from Genesis to Revelation, hand-curated
  for first-time readers.
• The Psalter in 30 Days — five psalms a day, the rhythm of Anglican prayer
  books for centuries.
• New Testament in 90 Days — every NT book, about three chapters a day.
• Whole Bible in a Year — 365 short readings, no skipping.
• Wisdom Literature in 30 Days — Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch and
  the Maccabees, for the Catholic canon.

Built for both canons
Choose Protestant (66 books) or Catholic (73 books, with the Deuterocanon and
the Greek text of Esther and Daniel). The whole library reflects your choice —
including the reading paths available to you. Switch anytime in Settings; your
progress is preserved.

A reader you'll want to come back to
• Four reading fonts: System Serif, Iowan Old Style, Georgia, New York.
• Three themes: Light, Sepia, and a true Dark for late-night reading.
• Adjustable reading size, 85 % to 150 %.
• Tap any verse to highlight in four colours, bookmark, add a note, or share.
• Share verses as beautifully composed 1080 × 1080 / 1080 × 1920 / 1080 × 1350
  PNG cards — square, story, and portrait formats.
• Listen to any chapter aloud with the built-in reader (free, no subscription
  unlock).

Search the whole Bible
Lectio's full-text search is canon-aware and runs entirely on your device.
Try "shepherd", "new heart", or "Bethlehem".

A library, not a feed
"My Library" gathers every bookmark, highlight, and note you've made into one
place. No friend feed, no leaderboards, no streak shaming. Just the texts
you've marked, the words you've underlined, and the thoughts you've kept.

Daily reminder, no email required
Choose any time of day for a gentle local notification. No account is
required; nothing leaves your device.

Bible translations included
• World English Bible (WEB) — full text including Deuterocanon. Public domain.

More translations land in v1.1, including Reina-Valera (Spanish), João Ferreira
de Almeida (Portuguese), and the Douay-Rheims (Catholic, English). All public
domain.

Privacy that works because we don't collect anything
Lectio has no accounts, no ads, no trackers, no analytics. Your bookmarks,
highlights, and notes live in your device's local database and (in v1.1) in
your own iCloud. We never see them. We never see anything.

Designed for Apple platforms
Built natively with Swift and SwiftUI for iOS 17 and later. Optimised for the
iPhone reading experience, with iPad support, dark mode, dynamic type, and
VoiceOver throughout.
