## What is Ledger?

Ledger is a quiet bookkeeping app for everyday money. You keep a simple ledger of income and expenses across checking, savings, cash, and business accounts, then see the month at a glance: net, income, spending, and where the money went by category. Every receipt can become a journal entry. Scan paper with the camera or pair a scanner, review the payee, amount, category, and account, and post it to the books. Add income or an expense by hand when you need to, search and edit the journal, and hide amounts when you are not alone. Ledger stays out of the way: black and white, no noise, just a clear record of what came in, what went out, and what is left.
