### 3/5 — Looks like removed it

*2025-01-11*

I will removed from January 16th 2025 because it’s not available in your app because yeah I think developers remove the 3 Apps Lego Boost and MINDSTORMS and Connected train. Yeah but it’s came out 2018 because new app in 2025 now in 2018 and 7 years later it’s gone forever now new app 2025 and Today. Thank you now. Developer removed in January 2025

**Developer response:** The apps LEGO® Boost, LEGO® DUPLO® Connected Train and LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Inventor are still available to download via the App Store. For easier install, please make sure that your device is fully compatible with the apps (can be checked via LEGO.build/DeviceCheck-Apple) and that you have enough storage. If you need further help, please let us know via LEGO.build/Service-Apple. 🔍 - Marine, LEGO® Customer Service

### 2/5 — This app could be much better

*2024-12-26*

I think this app is too infantile to be worth the effort. I don’t even want my son to play with a screen, so i definitely don’t want him to do that to play some lame game. Basically, this should have been geared more for adults who love be playing with their kid’s toys because trains are fun at any age.

The best part is that you can remotely control the train, but even then the controls are inconvenient because the screen is packed with too much junk.

This app should just focus on designing your own track and then see it traveled in first person view, somehow coordinated with the actual toy. That’s it.

**Developer response:** We're sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy the app. We appreciate your feedback, though. We're always working hard on adding new features, and creating the best experience for our fans. We know some families may want to limit screen time, which is why your train can still push to start and stop – no app required. - Todd, LEGO® Customer Service

### 3/5 — Very large file size

*2024-06-06, version 1.8.21*

Why does such a simple train control app need to be so large ?

### 3/5 — Heavy as hell

*2024-02-22, version 1.8.21*

Why the app to control a little train should be 1.25GB?!

### 3/5 — Doesn’t work with two trains

*2024-01-23*

I have two Duplo trains, and two phones. I used to be able to have each of them connected, but right now, when I connect one train, the phone for the other train shows it disconnected. Power cycling the disconnected train causes the train that was connected to disconnect.

**Developer response:** Hmmm.that doesn't sound right. Feel free to get in touch with us at LEGO.build/Service-Apple and we'd be happy to troubleshoot with you. 📞 Henny, LEGO® Customer Service

### 3/5 — Can’t connect with iOS 12

*2023-12-26*

I have older iPads and even an older iPhone that I allow my toddler to use. The website says it will work with iOS 10.3 and above, but I tried it on both my older devices and it won’t even load for the train+app option, it only runs the app games. On my current phone iOS 16.6, it works just fine for connecting the train and running it. Please update your compatibility info on the site or fix it to work with older iOS versions. Thank you.

### 4/5 — The app is good but the train chews batteries

*2023-12-26, version 1.8.21*

The app stand alone or connected to the train is fun. Won’t remember a connection and can sometime not connect at all. However, the train itself chews batteries. Four fully charged new eneloop AAAs last 10 minutes.

As others have said, 1.2GB is a massive size for what is a simple app.

Either split off the activities as a separate download and/or code better.

### 3/5 — No refuel control.

*2023-12-25*

The biggest issue is that there are no options or buttons to control a refuel (the blue action brick with a droplet on it). The app as a whole is really large for what it does.

As a whole, it is still a fun app for the kids. They have enjoyed the activities and controlling their train. With a smaller size and the refuel interface it would be a 5 star for sure.

### 4/5 — Helicopter helicopter

*2023-08-07, version 1.8.17*

Helicopter helicopter

### 1/5 — 1.2GB!! Seriously???

*2022-12-28, version 1.8.17*

I have to download and keep a 1.2GB app for 4 simple forward, backward, light and sound remote-control buttons? Seriously? (I don't want/need any of the “activities”?)

### 1/5 — Please :c

*2022-12-04, version 1.8.17*

PLEASE BRING LEGO JUNIOR BACK PLEASE

### 1/5 — Won’t connect to iPhone 14 Pro

*2022-11-05, version 1.8.17*

No matter what I try, doesn’t seem to be compatible with iPhone 14 Pro. Now have a train that won’t connect to the app because I upgraded my phone - devs need to keep up.

### 3/5 — The quality 😐

*2022-07-06*

I was playing this for a minute and was shocked at the guy in the corner. Not gonna lie he jumpscared me badly. I think it is complicated but they tried. Thats all that matters. Anyway keep up the great work Duplo! ❤️ It was also tricky and a little boring. If I was little I would play once and say “delete it please” because its just uh... I liked toca train with different things and you can do so many cool fun things but this is just... bad.

**Developer response:** Thanks for sharing your feedback. If you ever have any questions or comments on what you'd like to see improved, we're here at LEGO.build/Service-Apple and we're happy to help. 🙂 - John, LEGO® Customer Service

### 2/5 — 1.2Gb way too big!

*2022-06-25, version 1.8.17*

The size of the app, just to be a remote control for a train is way too big. It would also be good to be able to control the timeout function on the train from 2 hours to 5 minutes of no use before it self turns off. We go through a set of batteries a week!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Awful

*2025-01-10, version 1.8.21*

Adds next to nothing to make a child play with the train

### 1/5 — Too much storage

*2024-12-16, version 1.8.21*

My kid enjoyed this game lots, but then he wasn’t able to download any other games because this took so much. He was devastated. Now he lives on the streets as I enjoy retirement. It also takes so much battery life

### 1/5 — Bluetooth stopped working

*2024-03-19, version 1.8.21*

Tapping the app and train option no longer searches for a train using Bluetooth.

### 1/5 — Update broke train connectivity!

*2024-01-20, version 1.8.21*

Since updating this app to the latest version, we can no longer connect the orange or red Duplo trains to the app. You press ‘train and app’ and it just returns you to the menu. No connection setup/page anymore. Our child is very upset as loved playing this way using the iPad and it was one of the reasons we bought both sets. Is a fix planned?

### 1/5 — Engine broke

*2023-12-25*

The engine broke 5 minutes into playing with it. It won’t move on its own anymore. My son is very disappointed. We have to return the whole thing.

**Developer response:** We're very sorry to hear this and never want our fans to be disappointed. Reach out to us at LEGO.build/Service-Apple and we'll be ready to work towards the best solution for you. - Heather, LEGO® Customer Service

### 1/5 — Bad.

*2023-12-21*

It has nowhere in the settings that you can turn on the Bluetooth permissions, so there’s no way to connect to the train. You should change that. Otherwise, the app is great. All it does is play weird music and sounds.

**Developer response:** Hi there! We can help with that. Get in touch with us at LEGO.build/Service-Apple and one of our loc experts will have a closer look for you. 🙂 - Henny, LEGO® Customer Service

### 1/5 — Not connecting

*2023-07-14, version 1.8.17*

Followed all instructions and train not connecting. :(

### 1/5 — Kids don’t care

*2023-04-07, version 1.8.17*

In train control mode, Kids don’t care about the real train at all because of all the animations on the screen, it needs to be just a simple control screen with a lever for forward and reverse and a lever to pull for the whistle a button to press for the light so they can actually bother to look at the real train doing those things. Instead, there’s an animated character and an animation of the track going past, too distracting. Kids just stare at the screen while you listen to the horrible noise of the cheap motor screaming and whining.

### 1/5 — Bluetooth connection not working

*2023-03-24, version 1.8.17*

Bluetooth connection can not be established on iOS 16.3.1. It just won’t connect to the train, although bluetooth is enabled in the settings. Also everything’s fine on Android, so the train itself works properly.

### 1/5 — Not connecting

*2023-02-12, version 1.8.17*

No longer connects via Bluetooth. Has a development team tested this lately on the latest version of iOS?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great

*2025-03-29, version 1.8.25*

Great

### 5/5 — Renewed love

*2024-05-12, version 1.8.21*

My son recently rediscovered his train at 6, he’s had it since he was 3. He now invents new games with his train and incorporates other toys along with his duplo! He loves using the app to control it. Keep the updates coming and please make new tracks available in store and online!

### 5/5 — Lots of fun and MORE functionality!

*2023-01-29*

Great fun, remote control your Duplo Train! Really unlocks the potential of the Bluetooth train sets. I have the Steam Train set and a couple extra track packs, and it’s a ton of fun! With the app, you are not just bound to the colored Command Bricks, though those are great as well.

As far as additional functionality, you can control the speed of the train, as well as access more colors for the light on the front of the train! Plus you can have the train whistle whenever you want!

A must have app if you have the Duplo Steam Train or Cargo Train!
Woo-wooo! ALL ABOARD!

**Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to let us know in such detail how much you're enjoying our app! We wish you many more hours of fun railroad adventures! 🚂🤩 - Elisa, LEGO® Customer Service
