## What is Leica PAULA?

Remote control PAULA - your Personal Automated Lab Assistant  - a smart digital imager dedicated for routine tasks in the cell culture lab. The PAULA App allows you to operate the digital imager remotely with your iOS tablet. It provides the possibility to conveniently monitor and document your cells. For larger through-put a barcode reader in the housing of PAULA can be used to scan and identify securely large numbers of cell culture flasks. All data are well organized in an integrated data base and can be shared with supervisors and colleagues if desired. 

The smart imager PAULA can be placed wherever needed- on the lab bench, under the hood and even in the incubator. This allows to monitor cells over time and to perform cell based assays like confluence evaluation. A smart user management enables PAULA to store and recall user specific settings and ensures reproducibility of results – thus enabling a profound standardization of the cell culture workflow.

PAULA 1.2 release brings about the ability to conduct experiment and quick checks with multiple PAULA cell checkers. It also allows you to view the data collected by cell checkers in the same experiment in the same graph for some assays and view all cell checkers in at the same time when multi-view mode is triggered.

Wound-Healing, a new assay is now available for use in the PAULA  application. It allows to measure the ability of cells to close an artificially induced gap either by migration of single cells or by invasion. Results are displayed as graph or as a list. All data are stored in a database and can be exported as Excel sheet.
