It was great I used a note to keep track it was just easier. Well now I can’t access my notes and I’m so upset. I just want to update it!!!! I sent in an email at the beginning of the year explaining my issues with the app. My statistics from the past have been erased, and my current statistics won’t keep up. The statistics used to be my favorite part, now it’s just a reading timer. I want the old app back. ### 2/5 — Latest update is not great *2025-05-11, version 4.0.2* I just got a new phone and updated Leio and what is this? Everything is different. The interface is confusing and not user friendly. I liked the simple layout thats actually advertised in the App Store. Can you bring that back? Can I remove an update? Because this app is not it anymore. ### 1/5 — Awful app+company *2025-05-06, version 4.0.2* They stole my video on tiktok to advertise their app, without asking for permission or giving any credit. They cut my video apart and left out all the clips when i was using a free youtube timer, to then replace them with screen recordings of their app. I have also taken a look at the app and was underwhelmed. They charge a $30 a year subscription for the app with only a 3 day trial. Billing starts immediately after those three days which barely gives you a chance. ### 1/5 — Do not use!!! *2025-05-03, version 4.0.2* Update 2 - 5/2/25: I am horrified to see ads for Leio on TikTok after their app has been broken for almost a year now with no changes to make it any better. I have no idea how the developer doesn’t understand that they had a product with a loyal fan base that was most likely willing to pay for premium features which they destroyed with their own hubris. Instead of fixing it, they start pushing out marketing. Talk about rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. For them to be advertising the app in this current form is gross misrepresentation. DO NOT USE THIS APP! Update 1 - 9/17/24: The app is now unusable with the IOS18 update. I’ve been trying all day and was only able to open the app one time after deleting and redownloading and power cycling my phone multiple times. When I was able to open it, I found all of my data erased including books I was in the middle of and all of my backups. I tried to reach out to the developers months ago as requested only to be ignored or have my email bounce back. I am officially giving up Leio and will no longer be recommending it. Very sad to see such a useful app with unique features become unusable for aesthetic upgrades. 1st Review - 8/29/24: This app was amazing and so simple compared to other reading trackers. However, as many are saying, the new update has come with loads of issues that have completely tanked the experience. I was hopeful the devs would work on an update to revert the unnecessary changes since they seem to be responsive to reviews. However, as time continues to pass I am losing faith. Please listen to your fans and revert to your old app that worked!!! ### 1/5 — Total scam *2025-05-02, version 4.0.2* So I bought this app and got a free trial and then I looked around and was like I don’t really like this so I canceled my subscription but I guess I canceled my subscription a little too late so I ended up having to pay for a full year subscription when I don’t even use it. really hard to get a refund when the app support takes you to a website that’s not even found and there’s no contact information. This is really fishy and is a total scam. Do not trust TikTok and always look at views. I wish I had before I purchased this. ### 1/5 — Broken *2025-05-01, version 4.0.2* This app had a lot of potential and I was really excited to download and try it. I was even considering paying for the subscription too until I realized it doesn’t actually work. It doesn’t count your reading streak or even properly track your pages read. I am a fool. ### 2/5 — App Won’t Open! *2025-04-10, version 4.0.2* I have been using this app for a few years now and I absolutely love all of the features! However, after this most recent update I cannot even open the app without it immediately crashing, so I’m rating it low for now. I am hoping this problem is resolved soon so I can continue to log my reading sessions and have access to my archived books! ### 1/5 — Leio lies in their advertisements *2025-04-10, version 4.0.2* I downloaded this app because a video on TikTok said that it has personalized book recommendations and a social aspect to it. It does not have either of those features. I poked around to see if the app has any redeeming qualities, and the first thing I noticed that It also only has two available options for adding books — adding every piece of data about the book manually or scanning the barcode. There is no ability to search for books. Um, hello? Garbage. ### 1/5 — Not worth it anymore *2025-03-19, version 3.42* I downloaded this app over a year ago and it was perfect at first. But after all the recent updates, it’s no longer keeping track of my sessions properly. I have no stats on pages read or anything for my average pace. The only thing it’s actually tracking now is how long I spend reading. And I lost a bunch of my achievements as well because it lost my stats, even tho books are still marked “finished”, Leio doesn’t recognize them as “completed”. Extremely disappointing to see a perfect app fall so far in quality. ### 1/5 — Can’t even open the app *2025-02-21, version 3.3.0* I have been using this app for years and now the app won’t even open. Did I just lose all my quotes and notes? It was really good and then the app stopped working. After a couple weeks-months it began working again but had this new update… Everything doesn’t work now… okay well that is an overstatement as some things do still work properly but most don’t. Also what’s up with the ads??? I love that it was just simple tracking and letting me know how pages to read to finish by a specific day that’s all I want. The last two years have been really bad. I barely used the app because it keeps resetting my goals and now I can’t add a book. It keeps trying to get me to upgrade. The app barely wrote for the past two years. I hate the new bookshelf—the fact that I have to manually sort all my books is really a pain. Why can’t I easily filter out completed books under “all books” view? It makes no sense. I can’t edit my reading sessions like I used to, and my favorite feature is gone—how long it’s taking me on average to read a page. I used to love this app but I’m sorely disappointed with the updates it’s had in recent years. ### 1/5 — What happened?! *2025-07-11, version 5.0.4* This app is unusable now. I miss the displays on how far along my books were. I miss how the old books were archived. I used to be able just look up the book I’m reading without scanning. That is all gone now and I wish I could have it back :(. If it’s not broke don’t fix it!! After many months of waiting for the bugs to get fixed and getting used to it, I feel like I should just give up. I ADORE this app as I love to track how long it takes me to read a book, however I’ve noticed an issue I’ve had several times today. The timer will stop and clear whatever time was there, and the pause button doesn’t work to reset it. This awesome app gives you everything you need to track down and manage your reading, without useless features (like a book social meadia clinging to it). Seriously, I got two masters with it and I’m a philosophy PhD student now! It has helped and helps me a lot. As I mentioned in my last review (six years ago!) the only essential missing feature is an alarm feature that informs your rest time after like 30 or 45 minutes of reading (or whatever you set). Please work on it!! The other thing is that when reading, if you wanna know how much you read, you need to unlock your phone. Now, the screen keeps getting stuck on the “date; first page read; last page read; duration” there is not button to complete the action and I can’t go back to the home page. ### 5/5 — A couple pet peeves on an otherwise excellent app *2024-01-05* First, archiving a book counts toward your "books read" goal, even if you didn't finish the archived book. (EDIT: There's an option to fix this in the settings!) There's a book I have no intention of finishing, but I can't archive it without messing up my reading stats, and I also can't delete it without losing all my quotes and notes. Second, while I love that you can add quotes by taking a picture, the (otherwise quite good) OCR consistently adds spaces before punctuation marks that don't need spaces before them (periods, commas, etc).
