## What is Lempert's Lampoon?

Lempert's Lampoon is a satirical newspaper of record(ish) — shining a light on the absurd since 1978.

THE ARCHIVE
Every front page ever published — all 276 issues — in a native archive. Turn pages with a real page curl, pinch to zoom, and roll the dice for a random issue.

THE DOSSIER
Every issue carries its plaque and a full dossier: the front-page headline, location, closed captioning, the origin post, suggested listening, and any bonus links.

THIS WEEK'S PAPER
The current edition, bundled in full for offline reading: the front page, the live feed, the games, and the rest of the paper.

THE 4-D EXPERIENCE
Three floors, no glasses required. The Arcade: twelve games of skill, chance & compliance, each with its dossier. The Sim Center. And The Complete Pressing — every issue's song, in order, played end to end.

WIDGETS
A rotating front-page widget with its own dice (tap a page to open that issue in the reader), and a national-debt counter.

ALWAYS CURRENT
New issues and corrections now arrive on their own — the paper keeps itself up to date without waiting for an app update.

The whole publication works offline. No account required. The $2.00 on the masthead is part of the joke; the app is free.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-07-19

The Lampoon now keeps itself current.

• Fresh content arrives on its own — new issues, corrected captions, updated song
listings, and fixed front pages appear without waiting for an app update.
• Pull down on This Week to grab the very latest edition on demand.
• Home Screen widgets refresh with the newest front pages.
• Tap the 4-D Experience tab while browsing The Complete Pressing to jump to the top;
tap The Archive tab to return to the top of the grid.
• Smoother music playback switching between Play All and Shuffle; the record now wraps
around when you start partway through; the previous button restarts the track first.
• The hearing-protection notice now reads correctly in dark mode.
• Assorted fixes and polish.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-17

The Lampoon plays music now.

• Suggested Listening plays inside the app — the full track for Apple Music subscribers, a 30-second preview for everyone else. No sign-in required.
• THE COMPLETE PRESSING, a new floor in the 4-D Experience: all 276 tracks, in order, played end to end. Shuffle it, skip through it, scrub it, or long-press any track to open its issue.
• Six new issues (Nos. 271–276). The Archive now holds 276 front pages.
• New in the Screening Room: Arrested Development, National Lampoon's Vacation, Christmas Vacation, European Vacation, Vegas Vacation, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off — each with a review.
• A new Copy button in the reader: copy the page image, the Apple Music link, or the Instagram link. Long-press any issue in the Archive to copy its link.
• Expanded galleries with new captions.
• The hearing-protection notice now names the right specialists and covers sudden hearing loss.
• Corrected track listing for Issue 268; assorted fixes and polish.
