## What is LensAware Smart Glasses Radar?

Other apps hand you a list of Bluetooth devices. LensAware tells you which ones are camera glasses, and how close they are.
Camera glasses look like ordinary eyewear. They can film a cash machine keypad, a classroom, a child in a playground, a face they will later look up. Most people never notice them.
They do broadcast Bluetooth. LensAware listens for that signal and warns you when one comes near, on your iPhone, your Apple Watch, in the Dynamic Island and through your AirPods.

WHAT NO OTHER DETECTOR DOES
LensAware is the only app in this category that alerts on Apple Watch, speaks through AirPods, follows a detection live on your Lock Screen, maps where devices appeared, and lets you silence the places you trust.

WHICH GLASSES LENSAWARE RECOGNIZES
LensAware matches the public Bluetooth signal against a built-in signature list: Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2, Wayfarer, Headliner, Skyler), Oakley Meta (HSTN, Vanguard), Meta Ray-Ban Display, Snap Spectacles and Specs, Brilliant Labs Frame and Halo. Brand names describe the kind of device detected. LensAware is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these companies.

WHAT YOU CAN DO, FREE
• See nearby camera glasses in real time on a live proximity radar.
• Know how close a device is, from "very close" to several meters away.
• Get alerts on your Apple Watch, in the Dynamic Island and in notifications.
• Hear spoken alerts through AirPods, or switch to a discreet Stealth Mode.

WITH PREMIUM
• Read the exact distance in meters or feet.
• Review every detection in a full history, grouped by day, with duration and closest distance.
• Spot patterns when the same kind of device shows up across days and places.
• Open any detection for signal strength, match confidence, first and last seen, and your own notes.
• See every detection on a 3D map.
• Silence places you trust with Trust Zones, so home and the office stay quiet.
• Follow a detection live from your Lock Screen with a Live Activity.
• Export and share a detection when you need a record of it.

WHAT LENSAWARE DOES NOT DETECT
This matters more than anything above. LensAware is not a hidden camera detector. Wi-Fi and infrared cameras do not broadcast the Bluetooth signals the app listens to, and iOS offers no way to scan for them. LensAware cannot tell whether a device is recording: it detects presence and proximity, nothing more. A device with Bluetooth off is invisible. Glasses already paired with their phone broadcast less often, and iOS limits background scanning, so LensAware sees them best while the app is open.

We would rather tell you this here than have you find out later.

PRIVACY FIRST
LensAware works entirely on your device. Bluetooth scanning, location tags and your history never leave your iPhone and are never uploaded to a server. No account. No ads. No tracking.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9 — 2026-08-26

When iOS woke LensAware in the background with the device locked, the app could quit before it had a chance to warn you. This is fixed: it keeps detecting and alerting. Those detections do not enter the history, as the iPhone's data protection keeps it sealed while the device is locked.

### 1.8 — 2026-08-23

LensAware now ships in five languages: English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. Japanese, Korean and Chinese have been removed.

That may read like a step back. It is a choice. We would rather ship the languages whose every sentence a native speaker can check than offer more and get them wrong. A detection app that mistranslates a warning helps less than one that stays in English.

Which brings us to the part we cannot do alone. We do not yet know which glasses you actually run into, which alerts reach you too late, or which are just noise. If a device is missed, or if you have an idea we have not had, write to us from Contact us in the More menu. Every message is read.

### 1.7 — 2026-08-12

New languages on the App Store: LensAware can now be found in Japanese, Simplified Chinese (zh-Hans) and Korean. The app interface is still in English for now.
We also keep polishing the app to give you the best possible experience. Thank you for using LensAware!

### 1.6 — 2026-08-10

New languages on the App Store: LensAware can now be found in Spanish, Italian and German. The app interface is still in English for now.
We also keep polishing the app to give you the best possible experience. Thank you for using LensAware!

### 1.5.1 — 2026-07-29

A clearer radar, consistent alerts.

• The radar now tells you when it is not listening: Bluetooth off, permission denied or detection paused no longer look like a quiet area.
• A clearer screen: a single colour signals the situation at a time, the header has been simplified, and focus mode can be exited in one tap.
• Accessibility: complete VoiceOver labels, text following the system font size, animations honouring Reduce Motion, and stronger contrast.
• Alerts revised on Apple Watch, in the Dynamic Island and in notifications: the same four proximity levels and the same wording everywhere.

As always, everything runs 100% on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded.
