## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Very limited app.

*2021-08-30*

Although you can choose your sensor size and focus length, you can’t focus or adjust brightness when zooming in.

### 1/5 — Doesn't Work on IPhone 5

*2016-01-23*

It doesn't work on my IPhone 5 anymore... /: I loved this app when it actually worked. Can you fix this...?

**Developer response:** We just realized it is now possible to respond to reviews. Points101, I don't think we ever heard from you on the support email. As far as we know, the app has always supported iPhone 5 and continues to do so. If this is not the case, please let us know with what is not working. Thank you.

### 1/5 — Needs dslr video mode aspect ratio

*2013-02-05, version 1.01*

Please make an update for this to have a dslr video mode (16:9) aspect ratio (black bars at top and bottom of iPhone display so this can be used as a viewfinder for video and not just photo. Assuming the fields of view are based on a 35mm dslr full frame camera sensor? But cannot tell as the app does not display any info to this or have any options to change. Just zoom in and out from 24mm-400mm: but as written, I am not sure which camera censor/film gate you have exactly based these fields of view from.

### 1/5 — Len pick

*2012-10-17*

For the beginner this app is not for the iPhone camera. your ( like I thought) . It for the use of other photo equipment.

### 2/5 — Improvements

*2014-05-19, version 1.6*

I believe that you should in a future update, let the user choose between all the crop sensors.
( full frame, Nikon, canon, micro 4/3 etc) not just full and crop. Also you should add a feature to allow the user to add notes and test shots saying what focal length and sensor was used.
That's all I believe you guys should do for now to help make it a better user friendly and cheaper app.

### 2/5 — Meh

*2013-09-09*

It works, but I don't know what kind of full frame camera the author uses because it's not all that close to a Nikon D600's full frame. I guess it shows how one focal length relates to another decently. I will note that if you put the camera 4 feet away from you and look at it, it's pretty accurate then.

### 3/5 — Useful but limited to nothing below 24mm

*2015-06-24*

Simple and useful however the focal range doesn't go below 24mm which eliminates this for a wide lens previews. Please expand the range down to 12mm for a more complete app and higher rating.

### 4/5 — Good, but could be easily better

*2017-07-08*

Works exactly as advertised, simple. What is missing is more lens focal length numbers on turn knob - more numbers as relating to more common lens sizes

Very simple fix, just update the graphics on wheel.... then it would be 5 star!

### 5/5 — Fantastic tool!

*2016-06-10*

I use about six different primes and find this app a wonderful tool for setting up shots at a fraction of the cost of a director's viewfinder. I checked the accuracy with a couple of my lenses and found ut to be spot on.

The lens range of 24-400mm is excellent, but I did make a request to the developer to expand this to 12mm to cover the extreme wide-angle options.

In short, this is an excellent app and highly recommended to the photographer using prime lenses!

### 5/5 — Great app! Better than the other expensive ones

*2016-05-01*

Works great I use it when I shoot short films on my Canon full frame DSLR. I compared it to my 35,50,85 and even a 300mm. I definitely recommend it

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Last update rocks

*2016-02-14*

I was eagerly waiting for this update to arrive. I switched to the iPhone 6s and this is an indispensable app when I go scouting for photo shoots. Also, the app is better now that it has those cute dogs in the storefront!

### 5/5 — Handy app

*2016-02-09*

As an amateur photographer I sometimes just want to grab my phone and look at a scene quickly, frame up a good shot and then grab the right lens. Saves me trying out options, trying different lenses etc etc. So yeah. Handy.

### 5/5 — Nice app.

*2016-01-02*

It's nice to be able to look through this quickly. I do wish it displayed the focal length in the top right so you don't have to guess based on the markers.
The other thing I'd love is a button to take "the picture" for reference and be able to turn on and off watermarking the focal length. I'm taking a screen shot now and that works it would just be nice not to have the rest of the interface on reference images.

### 5/5 — Great for Indy Filmmakers

*2015-06-24*

I bought this app needing an affordable simple but effective viewfinder and BAM! This is it. If you make films this is a must have. It has all the proper ratios 16x9 cropped or full and 2:35:1 which is very popular in cinematic projects. I was blown away with the friendly customer support and with the accuracy of the lens options and framing. This is a great tool that will save time on set and for the price you can't beat it! Excellent buy. 100% recommended.

### 5/5 — Simple and Effective

*2014-07-03*

This is just what I wanted to be able to find preview shots before switching lenses or taking out my all my equipment. Fantastic!

### 5/5 — Lovin' LensPick

*2014-02-17*

Love this app and appreciate the updates. Very helpful when scouting and on-location and trying to decide which lens to choose. It's simple and works like any of the super expensive director's viewfinders out there. But great thing it's on my iPhone and not another thing to lug around. Nice job!

### 5/5 — Use this a lot, update great

*2014-02-14*

I didn't want to spend a lot because I wasn't sure I'd use it much- this works better than the pricier viewfinders and I use it all the time

I use for dslr and now for video shoots too

### 5/5 — Does great job!

*2012-10-05*

This app does one thing and that's all I need!! I just need to know which lens I should use without having to actually swap the lenses to find out!!
Clean and simple UI is a plus!
