However I hate subscription services for pro versions- a one time fee would suit me better. Also it takes a long time for new gear to be added - my Nikon z7ii is still not on the list nor my z 105 macro, and the body has been out quite a while. ### 2/5 — Pro Feature does not work *2017-11-19, version 5.4.7* I purchased the $19.99 upgrade for this app and it doesn’t work all the features I was supposed to receive just keep saying I need to upgrade but I already did :/ ### 2/5 — Could be good, lack of features means it falls short *2017-09-17, version 5.4.5* Underwhelming, doesn't allow for items without serial numbers so can't track everything I own. Doesn't allow for the name of items to be changed. Should anything ever be stolen you might just trace it through Lenstag. Also very useful just as a personal gear list. The problem I have with it is that it feels more like a beta version. Some of the problems I have encountered are, the pages don't always refresh properly, hitting the back button takes you back to the login page and there are several variations of the name for the same items. These are just a few of the problems. Overall Lenstag is a great idea but the app needs some work. ### 4/5 — Ugly icon *2015-07-10, version 4.6* Come on yall. What's up with this hideous boring icon? I do find it a little buggy (freezing, crashing, multiple entries of the same item) and it doesn't have all the latest gear in the database (eg. Nikon D810). If not for those things, I'd give it more stars. Still worth the download! ### 4/5 — Easy to use *2014-05-28, version 4.0* I really will not know how good this app is until (hoping not) my gear is unwillingly separated from me, but it was easy to add my camera gear and the corresponding serial numbers. I love that they make you take a photo of your SN to prove the authenticity, plus track the location 😎. There could be. More explanation on how to enter your equipment names, but there are suggested ones that automatically pop up that you can modify to meet your needs. Can't wait to see if any of my photos come up on the web. Cool feature, but not sure how well it will work, until it finds something. No scaling of fonts or a scroll bar available. Verification since weeks not happened ### 1/5 — Horrible German translation *2021-07-09, version 5.5.9* The app as such may be a good thing, but the bad thing is you don’t understand anything as a German user as the translation is just useless. It looks like a very bad machine translation. Should be redone by trained professional translators! ### 1/5 — Don't waste your time or money *2018-01-03, version 5.4.8* First, this app does nothing the web site doesn't do. But that's not saying much, because the app and the web site are a complete waste of your time and money if you are foolish enough to pay for the "pro" (LOL) version. The problem is that this site does nothing. The one-man-show doesn’t even respond to support tickets for months. Heck, there’s not even a way to mark an item of yours as not stolen if you recover your items. The site purports to search the web looking for images with your gear’s EXIF data, but it does no such thing. It purports to protect your images by searching for unauthorized use of them, but it doesn’t do that, either. It’s just a crude database with a poorly-designed interface that collects your camera info. This don’t-quit-your-day-job operation over-promises and under-delivers on the hope that you’ll pay for an annual subscription of snake oil. ### 1/5 — Doesn't work as claimed *2017-02-10, version 5.4.5* Company claims they've recovered stolen goods but no hard evidence except for claimed statements. I recently had my camera and lens stolen but I still had images from my stolen setup. Gave it a go and tested out by uploading images to popular online image hosting websites and made sure images had all appropriate exif data embedded in the files. Gave it a good 3 weeks and zero notifications on my test images. ### 1/5 — Unsatisfactory experience *2016-01-12, version 5.1.0* Used this app off and on. Great at first but later versions were plagued by bugs. Links will not open. Can not copy the links out as a workaround. Alert system seems to work after having to manually update settings only to have no new alerts. ### 1/5 — Problems adding items and spotty support *2015-04-20, version 4.51* I have only added 2 items and got errors verifying both of them. I wrote the author an email describing the issues and it took him over a month to reply. Then only to ask a question. No solutions. It's been several days since I entered my camera info and it still hasn't been verified. I suspect that they don't have the staff to be able to follow through on the demand.
