With recorder, I'm able to prompt myself and "think out loud" without feeling like I'm forcing thoughts. It’s a deal breaker if I can’t record more than 10 minutes of audio. I’m open to change the rating if the developer supports a longer recording timeframe. It says, “recorder did finish recording unsuccessfully” on save 😩 ### 2/5 — Laid out the way I like my apps.... *2018-07-16, version 1.7.3* Simple and easy to use. Unfortunately, there are some major bugs. If you do not edit your recording immediately after making it, you end up with no return key showing up on your keyboard (so you cannot manually add a line). This happens when you go back and select a recording to edit once it is part of the recordings list. I can see where the dev may have done this intentionally, since you can probably add more data by pressing record again in edit mode? But, return key should still be there to add new paragraphs. When you change themes ( blue for me) and try to edit, the cursor disappears. There is also no way to upgrade the app (not that I would right now), nor is there any way to contact the dev from within the app to report these problems. App is also only in portrait mode on iPhone. These problems occurred on both an iPhone 8 Plus and an iPhone 6, both fully updated on iOS and restarted after app installation. Happy to upgrade review if app is improved. ### 2/5 — craps out on longer recordings *2017-04-02, version 1.4* Seems like this might be OK for shorter things, but somewhere after about a minute and a half, it stops transcribing from what I can tell. So for longer things like journals or dreams or whatever, not super useful. I also can't really tell what the workflow is here. It seemed to just stop after finishing the one recording and I can't figure out how to get it to even play back what I recorded. I'm not going to spend five dollars trying to figure it out either. **Developer response:** hey, can you please email me emcohen@me.com so I can diagnose. ### 3/5 — First version promising, but not there yet *2017-06-02, version 1.7* I really want this after work. It seems to do a fine job hearing my voice and the way that I pronounce words. I'm glad that the voice recorder doesn't time out when I'm in the middle of the word. My needs are pretty simple. I need to speak, have the app transcribe my words, and then have the ability to edit those words. The app accommodates the first two needs, but the editing facility is really not useful. Very frustrating. I hope the developers will read this review and make improvements. **Developer response:** Hey, please email emcohen@me.com. Other voice dictation software we have tried did not understand her speech. So far this has worked great! It easily understands what she dictates. This allows me to keep a voice diary, and writes things down so I can search things. (Ex. "Things related to my crush"). The transcription is mediocre and could use work, but for search purposes, it's fine. One thing I'd like to see added is a feature where you can edit your recording after you're done, like on Apple's voice memos.
