But it’s challenging, without being too difficult, some games take two or three attempts. I personally don’t enjoy games that are too easy. Best bit is obviously no ads and no costs. Yay 😍. Maybe there should be a shuffle option ? ### 3/5 — Visually difficult *2026-07-16* I found this Mahjong difficult to see, it was hard to differentiate the layers and didn’t like that it only played in landscape. **Developer response:** Thank you very much for your review! Yes, the tiles are small on iPhone. I Usually play with reading glasses, or use the zoom. But I will tell my son Leon to draw a set of big tiles with clear layers, so neither the zoom or the glasses are required if you use this tileset. We will keep you posted! All the best! Lucas ### 4/5 — It’s ok *2026-07-04* Tiles are very small……….you’ll need good reading glasses. Also: levels are difficult to judge. Also, but not as important: each time you win, there are no increasing levels of difficulty and no points accrue. On a positive note, it’s extremely rigorous on your mental ability………closest comparison is Sudoku, which is tedious. The developer had replied that it might’ve been the version of my operating system. I didn’t have a chance to check that because I had deleted the app. After a few iOS updates, I decided to re-download the app and give it another try, and I guess that was the issue, because now it’s crystal clear. The only thing I don’t love is that the game can only be played in landscape mode, which is not very comfortable for my hands. But other than that it’s probably the game that I play the most. The tiles are not unique enough to spot differences, and I’m not crazy about the landscape-only game play. I’m glad it was only 99¢, so I don’t feel too bad about the purchase. Leon’s Mahjong was created by my son Leon and me with a clear retro 90s aesthetic in mind, that style can sometimes make the tiles appear less contrasted than in modern versions. I completely understand that this can be tricky for players with eyesight difficulties. For now, using the built-in zoom might help make the tiles easier to distinguish. I’m also working on adding portrait mode and exploring alternative tile sets with stronger visual contrast, so players can choose what feels best for them.
