LEPSI Watch Magnetism - THE FIRST APP THAT TELLS YOU IF YOUR WATCH IS MAGNETIZED This app is aimed to mechanical watch lovers who'd like to know if their watches are magnetized or not. How can I tell that my watch is magnetized? If your watch is running fast or slow, this can be a sign of magnetism. To be sure, this app has been made for you. With LEPSI Watch MAGNETISM, you can run a diagnostic on your watch’s magnetism in a few seconds. First detect the position of the magnetic sensor on your iPhone/iPad (you only have to do this the first time): 1. Place your iPhone/iPad on a table 2. Place a magnet above the iPhone/iPad and move it around the screen without touching the device. 3. Observe the magnetic strength displayed by the app 4. The higher the number, the closer the magnet is to the sensor. 5. Once you’ve found the sensor, double click on the identified area. 6. The sensor’s position will be represented by a circle. After you have pinpointed the sensor, you can measure your watch’s magnetism: 1. Click on Start and wait 3 seconds. 2. Put your watch about 1 cm away from the sensor without having it touch the screen. 3. If the message Magnetism detected shows up, your watch is magnetized and if not, your watch is fine. I’m not even able to select the correct location bc UX is ignored. And that says a lot about the app. Not to mention, it’s detecting magnetic material. Your watch will trigger the sensor regardless if it’s magnetic. ### 3/5 — Works ok *2022-05-27, version 1.12* Works ok but the links on the sidebar are dead. Also what’s the unit of measurement? Is it gauss? When configuring all it says is a number ### 1/5 — Won’t work *2021-05-21, version 1.12* Installed on iPhone 11 but fails to launch. Removed and reinstalled twice but no luck . ### 1/5 — Adding to sentiments *2021-02-05, version 1.12* This is to calm anyone down panicking that their watch is magnetized. Lepsi will say that ANYTHING ferrous is magnetized. This includes but is not limited to: your bed frame, chair, pocketknife, keys, coat hanger, clothes rack, door handle, etc. I know because I checked all of these things. If it comes up as “magnetized” your watch could be magnetized or not. Maybe yes maybe no. This will have you demagnetizing over and over and over again to no avail. Just go get a compass and check the old fashioned way. It will be more accurate in conveying whether anything is wrong. ### 1/5 — Apparently all my watches are magnetized *2020-09-14, version 1.12* Anything metal I put next to this app says it’s magnetized. All my watches, house keys, the metal snap on my watch case. Or I should say, there’s nothing in the code to differentiate between magnetism that needs addressing and natural magnetism that exists in any ferrous object. Basically EVERY watch will show magnetized as other reviews have indicated. The best advice to make this app usable is to use it in the config mode - and if the reading from your watch is under 100 you’re probably good. Over 100 you might have an issue. Mine kept saying magnetized which didn’t make sense bc it kept good time, when I used in config mode, registered around 40-50. ### 5/5 — It works, use creatively *2020-05-21, version 1.12* The app works in that it lets you find where the sensor is on your device and how much magnetism it’s picking up. Like others have mentioned, it will pick up anything ferrrous so it’s not accurate when it tells you if something is magnetized. I recommend leaving the app on the “configure” function and passing your watches over it. If the magnitude shown is under 100 you’re probably fine. Upwards 150, it’s probably magnetized. My seamaster 300 LE showed “80” when passed over my phone and my planet ocean (that I suspected was magnetized/ why I got the app) registered “320” Hope this helps! ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work. *2020-02-26, version 1.12* Any Watch I put on this says it’s magnetized when clearly they are not. Even watches that I’ve de-magnetized This app is junk. ### 1/5 — Thinks Anything Made of Ferrous Metal is Magnetized *2020-02-20, version 1.12* This app does not work. Every ferrous item I held up to the sensor, it told me was magnetized. Tested this theory after I demagnetized my watch multiple times and it kept telling me it was magnetized. ### 5/5 — I’m actually impressed. *2019-11-07, version 1.12* I downloaded this thinking that my automatic watch may be running fast due to it possibly being magnetized. It asks you to verify your phones ability by running a magnet above your phone. (Don’t be dumb and put it too close) I took the weakest magnet off my fridge (barely holds 1 coupon) and made an arc movement over the phone and it detected it immediately. Took the watch and held it over the phone and nothing was detected. So I saved myself the money of having to buy a demagnetizer. Watch just needs a tune.
