Dutch letters are hard to read even if you speak Dutch. Photograph one and Letrin tells you, in your own language, what it says, what it wants from you and by when. It works on any letter you cannot read. A tax assessment or a fine, yes, but also a rent increase, a hospital bill, a notice from the housing association, a letter from a school, an insurer or a neighbour. If it is on paper, Letrin will read it. Letters from the Belastingdienst (tax office), Toeslagen, UWV, IND, CJIB, DUO, SVB, CAK, your gemeente and more. THE PHOTO NEVER LEAVES YOUR PHONE The text is read on the device itself, offline. Only the text you approve is sent, and only to write the explanation. No copy of your letter is kept. No account, no sign-in, no history. YOUR DETAILS ARE HIDDEN AUTOMATICALLY Name, address, BSN, IBAN, phone number and reference numbers are found and hidden before anything leaves. You see exactly what will be sent, and you can hide more yourself. WHAT YOU GET • What kind of letter it is and who sent it • What is being asked of you, in one sentence • Step by step what to do • Dates and amounts, with the deadline called out • What to watch for: penalties, objection windows, common mistakes • A reply in correct Dutch for you to check and send yourself • A reminder before the deadline, and the date in your calendar IN 19 LANGUAGES Dutch, English, Turkish, Arabic, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Persian, Hindi, Chinese, Indonesian and Vietnamese. WHAT IT COSTS Every phone gets three explanations free. After that there are two ways to carry on. Letrin Plus is a subscription: 20 credits every 30 days, with reply drafts and calendar export. • A monthly plan, renewed every month • A yearly plan, renewed every 12 months There is no free trial; the three free explanations take its place. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings; deleting the app does not cancel it. The price of each plan is shown in the app, in your own currency, before you confirm, and differs by country. Credit packs are bought once and never expire: 1, 5 or 15 credits. Nothing renews. A pack is only used once a subscription allowance has run out. AN AI WRITES THE EXPLANATION, AND IT CAN BE WRONG Letrin reads your letter with an AI model. It can misread a blurry photo, miss a detail, or get an unusual letter wrong. Treat what it says as help with understanding, not as a final answer, and always check dates, amounts and deadlines against the letter itself. Letrin is not legal, tax, immigration or financial advice, and it is not a lawyer or an adviser. For anything with real consequences, contact the organisation that wrote to you, or free legal help at het Juridisch Loket. Don’t panic. Snap a photo and Letrin explains the letter in your language: what it says, what they want from you and when it’s due. The photo never leaves your phone. No account, no login, just answers. ### 1.0.7 — 2026-10-18 After your second explained letter, Letrin asks once whether you would like to rate the app. It helps other people with the same letters find it. Plus small improvements. ### 1.0.6 — 2026-09-27 Explaining a letter is more reliable: if the connection drops, the result is recovered and nothing is charged twice. Personal details are better protected before anything is sent, and every deadline in a letter now gets its own reminder. The privacy information has been updated, so the app asks for consent once more. Plus many small fixes. ### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-10 Hiding letters in the app switcher is now off by default; turn it on in Settings if you want it. Permission requests for the camera, photos and calendar now appear in your language. ### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-06 A new privacy setting keeps letters out of screenshots and the app switcher; it is on by default and can be turned off. Text can be set up to twice the default size. Buttons and links are announced properly by screen readers. A letter whose date has passed no longer looks urgent. An explanation that fails no longer costs a credit, and trying again is never charged twice. Deadlines like 'before the end of the month' are now worked out from today's date. ## Apps similar to Letrin | App | Rating | Price | Category | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | [ShopTickets Scanner](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/shoptickets-scanner/id6756739796) | — | Free | Utilities | | [CyberTools](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/cybertools/id6759388383) | — | $0.99 | Utilities | | [مدير الشبكة](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/id6792327245) | — | Free | Utilities | | [Chat Master AI Your assistant](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/chat-master-ai-your-assistant/id6741066421) | 5.0 (4) | Free | Utilities | | [Zwevegem](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/zwevegem/id6746050690) | — | Free | Utilities | | [AI Prompt !](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/ai-prompt/id6804669643) | — | Free | Utilities | --- *Data collected daily from the US App Store and indexed by [AppsHunter](https://appshunter.io/).
