I hadn’t even begun to head for the area we were going to start in and it was asking me to buy more tickets. And then it would ask for a rating every time I change screens. It honestly could use a little more accuracy on the locations but overall it was a lot of fun and a great way to explore the area you are headed to or find yourself in. It appears the only way I’m going to be able to turn it completely off. Is to remove it because it’ll be a while before I use it again. ### 2/5 — South Haven Let’s Roam *2026-07-25, version 15.5.0* First, the app is terrible. Hard to find where you are supposed to go. For many of the questions you are supposed to answer, half of the words are cut off. Starting place was a made up address. It took us 45 minutes to actually get started and the first stop was a store. Why? One of the stops was permanently closed and looked like it had been for a while. I think you get the idea. I gave it one extra star because we did it with my 7 year old grandson and he had fun, although I will take credit for a lot of that because we were enthusiastic and I brought prizes. ### 3/5 — Disappointed *2026-06-27, version 15.5.0* Some points on the hunts are not updated. Understandable but some of the wrong clues have been changed or missing for a long time. They need to change the map so hunts completed are easily identified. Save your $ *2026-05-09, version 15.2.6* We had just gotten started with the second challenge and the app ended our scavenger hunt on its own. When I tried using the chat feature to ask about it, it never worked. So disappointing. Dont even download this. The hunts are sloppy and generated through AI and are misleading. Was supposed to be doing a ghost scavenger hunt that was themed around haunted stuff but when I started the hunt all of the questions were very stupid and had nothing to do with ghosts or anything haunted. Don’t bother with this app unless you have room temperature IQ ### 1/5 — Avoid at all costs! *2026-08-09, version 15.5.0* Super buggy and borderline scammy. Started a hunt with colleagues, wanted to add another colleague. Went round in circles in the app, and eventually found that I needed to buy an additional ticket to assign to a new user. Bought the ticket, when attempting to assign was shown ‘undefined’ for the share code. Reached out to support and was told the ticket I had purchased could not be used for this. Asked for the ticket to be refunded multiple times and have been ignored. They do not follow the Apple Developer guidelines and process payments outside of the Apple flow, therefore Apple are declining to provide any support. Aside from this, and the many other bugs within the app, the hunt experience was definitely lacking, and seemed to be heavily team photo based, which isn’t particularly helpful with a camera shy team ### 1/5 — Fraudulent practices *2026-08-06, version 15.5.0* This company is dismal… they make it virtually impossible to cancel “membership”. ### 1/5 — Scam *2026-07-23, version 15.5.0* Doesn’t work at all. It’s a bait and switch. You think you’re getting something for $12.99, but then they upsell the whole time to the point where you end up paying 4x the price and the actual scavenger hunt is disappointing. And they see impossible with refunds. Terrible!! ### 1/5 — UNEXPECTED CHARGE *2026-07-11, version 15.5.0* Tried this app out with a free trial (did not even finish the scavenger hunt) and asked to cancel the membership. Agent said I would not be charged and then charged me a week later. ### 1/5 — Paid $80 for an AI-generated hunt no one bothered to fact-check *2026-06-18, version 15.5.0* Update: We tried a Questo scavenger hunt despite dramatic protestation from the kids after the frustration we all felt during the Let’s Roam hunt. The Questo hunt was great! Engaging story, directions and clues were accurate, challenges involved the place we were actually in, and there was lots of information provided. Try QUESTO…not Let’s Roam. We paid $80 for history hunts that read like AI-generated content no one bothered to verify. The Dubrovnik hunt describes a fountain with four gargoyles — the actual fountain is a satyr with a sheep. A later stop requires a €40/person entrance fee with no warning in the app. Directions involved passage ways inside a building with no indication which left us confused and frustrated. Basic stuff. When I reported it, I got a form apology, a link to their no-refund policy, and a request to help them improve their content. I paid them $80. I’m not their unpaid QA team. Great concept. Poor execution. No accountability. Spend your travel budget elsewhere. ### 1/5 — Poor product and app *2026-06-01, version 15.2.6* We used this app in Chania, Crete. It was just ok. It told us to go to a few specific places where we answered a couple of trivia questions and took pictures of us posing in certain ways. No real scavenger hunting, nothing particularly challenging, didn’t learn much from it. The app itself is confusing, particularly when trying to set up teams and groups. Directions are not good. Also when we tried to purchase tickets, the app gave an error stating that the purchase did not go through, so we resubmitted it a couple of times. Found out later that the purchases were going through so we paid much more than we should have. We contacted Let’s Roam but they said they had a no refund policy even though the overcharge was due to a problem with their app. Thus it deserves a low rating. ### 1/5 — Poor customer service *2026-05-24, version 15.2.6* I bought a voucher on a charity auction. When I went to use it, it says it has already been redeemed. I tried to contact the company and the online chat is just a chatbot that didn’t actually do anything but push you to call the company. I also called them but was on hold for over 30 minutes (even though online it said there was no wait time when calling), finally just gave up and emailed but have not gotten any response from that either. We have a bunch of people in town who we were going to use this for, but can’t do it.
