I have had it for 5 years. The app is trash. Perpetually crashing. Purchased the newer timer that is supposed to pair with the app. It will pair briefly, but as soon as I close the app (if it didn’t crash) it unpairs. This makes the timer worthless since there’s no other way to program it. ### 2/5 — Thumbs down *2026-05-16, version 4.0.3* The app sucks… nothing helps its just bad no reminders that work or are on time just bad ### 2/5 — So limited *2025-12-11* Hardly any seeds only about 20. You have to vote to bring back others. There was no fruits, just lettuce and herbs. What a disappointment. Also no written instructions and you have to watch a bunch of videos leaving so many people unanswered questions and some with no talking just annoying music. ### 2/5 — Needs improvements *2025-03-04* Though the app is pleasant to look at, using it is another story. The app links out to the site rather than housing information and pages on the app. This means you have to deal with site things like the sale and sign up pop-up windows which you can’t close meaning you’re constantly backing out and returning to pages. My system including initial seedlings cost $1000+ and my hope that the app would be better. The app and website are inconsistent when it comes to nutrient dosing. When I initially got my system, none of the QR codes for setting up the system worked; things like that should be housed in the app directly — set up, takedown, how to clean, dosing measurements and the grower’s guide. The seedlings section of the app is probably the best section; however, it takes too many clicks to get to information that should probably be housed on the same page. Also, I think there should be a seedling set up guide which walks the user through wood seat links they purchased and where to house them on their unit. like I said, the app is not terrible, but considering the price of the unit, I would assume that a lot more could be done within the app itself versus being linked out to pages that don’t function in the apps built in browser, a lot of links don’t work on the site itself meaning that not only can I not complete something using the app or the company website I have to seek out a third-party to resolve my issues — especially related to set up. ### 2/5 — Improve *2024-10-15* Please add a way to cancel orders in the app. Otherwise there’s a good chance the order will arrive before customer service sees the request to cancel. I ordered seedlings and needed to wait for the nutrients. There’s no way to tell if my seedling order will be canceled in time even though I notified the company within minutes of the order. Bad design. ### 1/5 — Account login feature doesn’t work *2022-05-12, version 3.1.0* Would like to be able to log into my account but every time I do, I get an error message ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2022-04-04* Everything we try and do on this app does not work. My wife signed up and forgot her password. I downloaded this app and requested a reset email for the password. They said it was sent to my inbox. Nothing there. Nothing in the junk folder either. Dealing with their website is no different. It took us all day to order 18 seedlings with the free extension. Took us all day with frustrations. Love the product but their IT folks must have graduated at the bottom of their class. ### 1/5 — New update caused waybtoo many bugs *2022-03-03, version 3.1.0* This app used to at least work and be semi-navigable. since the update, there are SO MANY BUGS. Ill set up my farmstand with plants etc one day, then the next everything has changed… Errors and crashing all over the place as well. Please invest in making this app more stable. ### 1/5 — Not sure how it can’t tell it’s own plants… *2021-12-16, version 3.0.0* I have one pod of spinach growing on my 24 pod lettuce grow. The app has identified 6 different pods as spinach…. One pod was identified as 99% watercress, I do not have any watercress. Ok, so, the identification is a bit clunky even though it only has to be aware of 250 possibilities. What else can I do with this thing? Well, there isn’t anything to set up correct reminders for maintenance. Oh, I can BUY MORE FROM THE SHOP! This area works perfectly well. No issues! Go figure. Love my lettuce grow but I don’t think the app adds any benefit outside of allowing you to spend more money. ### 1/5 — Poor *2021-12-08, version 2.9.2* Part of the reason bought The farmstand was because of this app that could help guide me but pretty much all I ever get is a message that says there is a problem and to try again later. So far this app has been completely useless. Don’t recommend ### 2/5 — Great Hydroponic system, not very useful app *2021-06-25* The system is great, I love it. The App is more annoying than useful. I mostly wanted it for the reminders to fill, fertilize, and check my pH. But, the system and the seedlings arrived on a Wednesday. Lettuce Grow should know this, as they sent it and should have tracked. That’s when I set the system up, so that’s when I do the weekly maintenance. However, the reminder I get is every Friday without fail, which means it’s either two days too late, or five days too early. There doesn’t seem to be any way to adjust this date to your preferred day of the week or to turn it off since it’s useless to get reminded on the wrong day. Gave it two stars as App doesn’t crash much and it does remind me of what I ordered, in case I’ve forgotten. I suppose I could also use it to reorder supplies but am more likely to just use the website for that. As far as it’s primary function, it’s useless. ### 2/5 — Update isn’t as useful! *2021-01-16* I thought my Lettuce Grow app was broken. I used to be able to review the latest shipment of seedlings. Previous shipments were also available for review. Now the “Latest shipment” is the first shipment ever placed, from 15 weeks ago. It’s one big sideways scrolling list. All shipments combined. It was more useful when broken into the historical orders by date. When I click on the “more info” link below a seedling, the screen fills with a long error message and then the app quits. Also the alerts are useless. One big list that does nothing. It had to be broken. So I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Same problems. Then I realized that the app had updated to a new version 3 days before. I don’t appreciate this update. It is buggy and far less logical than the previous version. The one request I sent in doesn’t seem to be added. When browsing seedlings to add to the shopping cart, if you view the details of a seedling, there is no obvious, easy way to go back one step to the list you were on, so you can continue to browse other seedlings. You have to go all the way back to the “Shop” link and choose seedlings again, then bypass all the annoying bundles, just to get back to the available seedlings list. ### 1/5 — Always accessing camera and slow *2020-10-28, version 2.5* The app is always accessing the camera in the background while it’s open, not just when you move to the part of the app to scan the plants. Also it’s just slow. ### 2/5 — That’s Not It. *2020-10-11* It’s not time… It’s not a Merigold! It is some kind of an evergreen hedge! I wish it were Thyme. I am not giving my email address out to a company I don’t know. So I can’t send a picture in for analyst. Please update. *2026-07-28* I’ve been trying to connect my smart timer through this app for DAYS now. I’ve reached out to customer service, deleted and redownloaded the app multiple times, reset the smart timer, logged out and then logged back in, checked my WiFi and this app is so slow and glitchy. I really want it to work but I think you guys need an app update! ### 1/5 — Just spins *2026-06-18, version 4.0.3* I have tried redownloading this app and it just spins once I log in. ### 1/5 — Hardly connected *2026-01-22* The hardware isn’t the problem — the app is. The Lettuce Grow app is buggy, disconnects constantly, and often won’t stay connected long enough to control basic settings like the timer. Since the system depends on the app to function, these issues make the product frustrating and borderline unusable. A “smart” grow system shouldn’t require this much patience just to turn lights on and off. For the price, I expected a stable, reliable app. Instead, I got constant reconnecting and lost control. I wouldn’t recommend this product unless the app experience improves dramatically ### 1/5 — The worst app I've ever used *2026-01-07, version 4.0.2* I’m honestly wondering what the developers are doing. I can’t update my first name or last name, add my phone number, or add/update my address in the app—so how am I supposed to order seedlings? Also, after I added Smart Timer and restarted the app, the Smart Timer disappeared and isn’t visible anymore, and now I can’t add it again at all. ### 1/5 — Awful *2025-06-02, version 3.9* Can’t even log on because the app jumps off the screen. Smart timer does not work with the app and IOS 18 ### 1/5 — Trash app *2024-08-23* This app is a disaster, if you try to purchase anything through the app, it continually shows videos doesn’t take you to where you would like to go and is basically a buggy mess. It’s been a while too. You think part of the app that actually generates revenue would be more taken care of. And don’t get me started on how the App automatically adds things to your cart without telling you and if you don’t notice before check out, you’ll be stuck purchasing them and having to deal with returns later, very unethical would be an underlining theme for this company. ### 1/5 — Stop the advertising *2023-12-03, version 3.8* Like many others have mentioned, the advertisements are really frustrating and make me want to delete the app. Every time I open the app I get a pop-up to sign up for the news letter, buy more plants, push promotions, etc. If someone has downloaded the app they are already customers and they don’t need to be aggressively advertised to. I think my overall experience with the company has been… iffy. There is so much pressure to get “friends” to buy the product. Even when looking to buy the farmstand many of the “reviews” were people trying to get other to use their discount code in hopes they can get discounts. I had hoped I could get away from the slimy marketing once I purchased the product and downloaded the app but you get pestered there too. Honestly, I would be embarrassed to ask friends to buy the farm stand for that reason. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2023-05-15, version 3.7* The ap does not recognize my order so I can’t track anything.  Been with Lettuce Grow since the early days and this update is a big step up. Everything’s faster, cleaner, and way more intuitive.
