But I don’t understand why you get an ad after everything you click on. Open the app. ADS. Want to see hourly forecast? ADS. Need to go back to see daily forecast? ADS. This is an update to my weather rock review submitted a few days ago (see below). You may only see it here but I’d like to believe someone has realized that the ad driven dissatisfaction of all recent reviews has resulted in change and this again becoming my go to weather app, for now. I was just getting comfortable with a different source for staying weather aware when I decided to check to see if our opinions mattered. I didn’t want to mention in my first review that the ads not only made me dislike the app but I would’ve never sought what was being marketed because of their role with what had become an unusable tool - I was being generous with 2 stars. Being pleased with the “fix”, I couldn’t leave my rating the way it was. I’ll give it another week at least. For now, thank you very much. Earlier review: Can’t touch the screen hardly without it playing the scripps advertisement. VERY ANNOYING! About to hang a rock outside my window and if it’s wet it’s raining, swaying then windy. In its current iteration, it is all but unusable unless you want to constantly turn your phone sideways so you can push the “X” to close out the pop up videos that continue to interrupt the reason you have the app in the first place. At this point I’m better off using the NWS app or the basic weather app on my iPhone. I’m very disappointed. ### 4/5 — Too Many Ads *2024-07-21, version 5.15.406* I’m not sure what precipitated this change, but in the latest release of this app I keep getting video ads every time I go to look at the hourly or daily forecasts. Very intrusive and bothersome! I don’t mind ads in the flow of the page as I expect that. I usually don’t mind ads, but the way they use them in this app are ridiculous! It’s everytime I open it and most of the time pops up every few minutes while I’m actively using the app. They are very long ads and it takes three steps to complete the ad to go back to the app. This has ruined my usage of this app. ### 1/5 — Unable to Use Due to Ads *2026-06-21, version 6.2.512* The ads pop up too frequently and you can’t even exit out of the ad. You have to exit out of the app entirely and hope that when you open it back up, it might maybe let you actually use the app long enough to check the weather before another ad pops up and halts your use of the app. This is a local organization so I gave them a few weeks to get the issue sorted out and the ads went away but then they came back. It seems they care more about receiving money from marketing than allowing their community access to weather forecasts. ### 1/5 — I hate full screen ads! *2026-06-14, version 6.2.512* This app has always been great, and the most accurate weather app compared to so many others on the market but I can’t stand full screen ads! I open the app, and I get a full screen ad right away any more. Click on the map tab, full screen ad, can’t even look at the map fully without getting another full screen ad. Want to look at the hourly? Got to watch a full screen ad first, want to scroll down, you get another full screen ad! So annoying! I have to close to app just to open it again, just to get another ad!
