Never have Lexus factory camera installed. Such a bad experience from so called luxury car brand. She thought it was pretty cool that it has an app that I could view dashcam footage remotely. It turns out that it’s not really remote. You have to be connected to the camera’s wifi to download any videos, and it’s slow. What a total waste of money. If you have the opportunity for a Lexus dashcam, pass on it. Solid pass. Lexus should be embarrassed selling garbage like this. Should not have to remove SD card to retrieve video. ### 1/5 — Won’t connect to iOS 17.7.1 iPhone 13 Pro Max *2025-02-22, version 1.4.4* I downloaded this Lexus viewer because the latest lexus main app won’t work on any iPhones running iOS 17 or higher. I confirmed that iOS 16 works using an old iPhone 8 running iOS16 on the regular Lexus app. My hope was this newly released Lexus viewer app would help address the iOS 17 and 18 issues, but this app won’t even connect at all to an 2025 Lexus nx450h+ with factory installed dashcam. At least the regular Lexus app will connect with iOS 17 you just can’t view any saved recordings nor does live view work either. So I have to carry a microSD reader inside the glove compartment just in case of a crash to show footage to the police. For Lexus vehicle they need to get their act together and fix these apps. I even contacted Lexus corporate care and they don’t even care and just told us to work with our local dealer — very poor customer service!! ### 1/5 — Does not work with iPhone!! *2025-02-05, version 1.4.4* This app says that the last update over 4 weeks ago addressed the issue for connectivity with the new iOS but it still doesn’t connect. Lexus dealership says I just have to wait for another update. I’ve tried deleting and redownloading and all other troubleshooting methods and it doesn’t work. To view previous videos does take some time as it must download it first. Quicker to pull out the SD and go watch on the computer. Side note the 8GB SD included is absurd in this day and age. Go buy a >256gb. Overall, exactly what I expected. I bought a Lexus understanding the tech is slow and dated and that’s OK. Only complaint is very difficult to connect, and even connected, could be disconnected if move away from the dash cam while downloading.
