App shows it’s connected, Alexa audio mode no longer available. I’ve deleted the app, reinstalled, re-authenticated in Amazon, rebooted the audio system. Don’t bother - just use Spotify on car play. @lexus - perhaps add wireless car play, and just forget about the whole Alexa thing. Old review - Have a 2020 rx. In order to get this to work, I have to wait for it to auto-load (when car turns on), swipe up to stop the app, then select the app on my phone to load. If I do this, it works every time. Works is subjective - Alexa commands are very limited. I’ve consulted dealer. They suggested to update all the sw in car and phone and also to reboot the radio (hold power button down). None of that works. All software is up to date on everything. Only forcing a reload to the app works. Seems very strange and VERY annoying - not to mention a serious safety problem if you’re trying to invoke Alexa while driving and have to fiddle with your phone. For a luxury car, you would think Lexus would have this working for a more pleasurable experience for their customers. No tech support offers any resolutions in getting the app to work. Sorry for the one star rating but until issues are fixed. What you get is what we get. ### 1/5 — Quit Working *2021-07-31, version 1.0.12* We have a 2020 RX. When first installed in the spring of this year, it worked great! Then, it was so-so.. The dealer suggested we unpair then re-pair our phone. Again, it started working for about a week. Now, it won’t work at all. We can’t even get the app to open(light-up) on the car display screen despite knowing we are signed into the Lexus Enformed & Alexa+Lexus apps. Extremely frustrating! The echo car app performed so much better for us. ### 1/5 — Horrible App *2021-02-10, version 1.0.9* Rarely functions. Now won’t even recognize my 2020 NX300. The previous app worked fine with my 2016. Lexus should have spent more time developing this before putting it out. Very disappointing. ### 1/5 — IOS 14 and elimination of Lexus Enform *2020-10-04, version 1.0.7* Recently my iPhone was updated to IOS14. Lexus now indicates that the Enform App is not used for Lexus+Alexus and instead the Lexus app is used. This combination is not working. I have unpaired and removed phone, repaired the phone, deleted all the apps and reloaded all the apps, reset the car’s computer and removed all personal data and still the Lexus+Alexa app does not recognize a connection to the vehicle. It is now grayed out on the monitor in the car and will not connect. After two hours with the Lexus technology help desk, no one can determine how to correct this. In the past, and I have only hard the vehicle five months, the app worked intermittently and now not at all. Very disappointing. Sounds like this technology wasn’t well tested and is not at all stable. ### 1/5 — Would not connect *2020-07-03, version 1.0.5* I have a 2019 RC350 and this app would not work. We tried everything. Over it! ### 1/5 — Lexus plus ALEXA *2020-06-02, version 1.0.5* Never could get it to connect. The Magnuson Lexus dealership dealership couldn’t get it to connect either. All the needed apps were on my iPhone so there was no reason it wouldn’t connect. Car keeps saying the app is not detected. Of course this happens when you need the app most. There is no warning that the app is going to unlink itself, there is no need for the app to unlink itself, and this is just another example of the folks at Lexus not using the applications they’ve designed. Imagine if a car key suddenly didn’t work every few months. I spent $60,000 on a new Lexus and hate everything about the technology. Lexus advertises a Alexa Integration, but it is horrible on every level. Lexus claiming the vehicle comes with Alexa is just false advertising. I’ve changed phones (iPhone 11 and 12), deleted and reinstalled the apps numerous times, unpaired and paired numerous times… all to no avail. Even worse, while it would occasionally work with the old version, now it doesn’t work at all with this new version. ### 1/5 — Just awful *2022-03-22, version 1.0.16* All around terrible. Glitchy, slow, unresponsive. Terrible UI and most of the time takes all the convenience out of having a smart device. Performed all the troubleshooting others have described. Took it to the dealer to have the computer reset. They couldn’t figure it out and told me to call Lexus. App was grayed out and stopped working for 5 months. Now all of the sudden it worked today but intermittently. So disappointed that Lexus and Amazon can’t get this resolved. If ur getting only Alexa listening, when u press manually on car. Or when u say Alexa and no response. Close app on phone and open again. Will work afterwards. Will work when u say “Alexa”. But any way or work around without having to close app and open again to make it work every time? Please let me know. (Now working!) *2019-12-13, version 1.0.2* Does does not work at all on my 2020 RX. It says that Alexa is listening but absolutely nothing works. Completely dead. Very frustrating! Spoke with Lexus tech support and they could not help at all. Update- spent 45 minutes on phone with Alexa tech support. They said it is a Lexus issue and Lexus has to fix the problem. Update- I have now been told that I need to go back to the dealer-again-to have them to a data module reset. We’ll see if that works. Seems like Lexus doesn’t have their act together. Will update again after trying this. Last update - It is now working! Didn’t need an update! Didn’t need a reset! Just needed a competent tech guy at Lexus! (P.S.: I wish there was a way to get Apple car play and Alexa to both work at the same time without having to unplug my phone! Seems app not connecting :( Updates: talked to my dealer, they installed a new software update on the car and Voila: it works now on IOS! Limited utility as it does not drop off to my echo devices at home!
