For example, I wish I could just login and order a sunshades for specifically for my vehicle making model. First, there is a long lag of getting current info on the car battery percentage. Second, you can start charging on the Lexus app but cannot stop charging using the app (really need this). Third, need to be able to adjust charging percentage on the app and not just in the car and should be happening in real time. ### 3/5 — Digital Key is Sporatic *2026-08-30, version 3.5.0* The digital key is a disgrace to the Lexus brand as it frequently won’t open the doors, won’t lock the doors, or even start the car! Want a digital key that works go to another brand. Note this is LSS 3.0. ### 2/5 — Not working *2026-08-30, version 3.5.0* This app has stopped working for about three weeks now even with upgrades. The app literally doesn’t function when trying to log in normally or with Face ID. Lexus could not resolve it and told me to get the latest update and still not working. As of August 30, 2026. ### 5/5 — Lexus 2024 *2026-08-30, version 3.5.0* Excelente service ### 2/5 — The car is awesome but the app is terrible *2026-08-29, version 3.5.0* This app is, by far, the most disappointing part of owning an NH 450h+. The car itself is great but this app is terrible. It’s so annoying that I probably won’t buy another Toyota / Lexus product unless it’s resolved. 1. The app constantly logs me out. It makes using the app incredibly annoying. This makes voice commands, action button assignments (eg. action button to remote start car) useless, as they randomly fail. 2. The digital key is unreliable. Neither the fobs nor the key cards are waterproof. I hoped to use my phone or watch as a key when there was a possibility of getting wet. Nope, I could never rely on it based on my experience. 3. The watch app does not work without the phone nearby. Even with a cellular Apple Watch the app will not work at all unless it’s connected via Bluetooth to the phone. So I guess I can’t do water sports, use my waterproof cellular watch to unlock the car. That would have been nice. My digital key related gripes could be solved of Toyota just used Apple car key. 4. Monitoring charge levels using the app is terrible. In order to get an accurate display of charge it takes many refreshes to get current data. Sometimes it takes me 4-5 refreshes to get the charge level to update. Current data is useful when charging at public chargers. 5. Remote start is not optimized for a plug in hybrid. If the car is remote started a countdown timer begins. If I get back to the car, drive it a short distance then try to use remote start again (as one might do while running errands) the app still shows the countdown timer as if the car is still remote started. Multiple long presses can sometimes reset the counter and restart the car but it’s such a hassle I usually give up. I don’t understand why there is a timer for remote start on a plug in hybrid anyway. Why isn’t there an option to just keep the climate control on as long as there is battery left? I have no interest in owning full EV, but this one feature might convince me to buy a Tesla as my next car. This car has a big battery, why can’t I just hit a button to leave the climate control on until it’s dead? 6. Features removed. When I bought the car there was a useful feature in the app. It showed each drive, gave a map and distances driven. It gave drive scores for aggressive, acceleration, braking and turning. It also showed the current value of both trip meters. This was useful to find out how many miles were driven per tank, without needing to turn the car on. I was shocked that they just removed this feature on a car I already bought. That’s enraging. 7. There is no way for 2 people to be set up as the primary user. My wife and I share this car. If she wants to be able to use the app features like remote start, lock and unlock I have to go into the app and “share remote access”. I have to do this manually every time she wants to use the car. Then manually “unshare” access afterwards so I can use these features. This is especially aggravating. I should have went with my first instinct when picking up the car, and refused it when I learned about this limitation. I won’t make this same mistake again. In conclusion this app has been a severe disappointment in an otherwise excellent vehicle. The tech in vehicles can make using them a magical experience or annoy even the most tech savvy people. Lexus is a brand that is appealing to a lot of older people so the tech really needs to work well and lean heavily towards being a stress free magical experience. This app is the opposite of that. I have been working in IT for many years but I had a hard time getting all of the features in this app to even work. I have spent way too much time on the phone with technical support for something that should be easy to use. I hope this review helps people make an informed buying decision. With a vehicle this complex it’s hard to understand its limitations and annoyances without living with it for a while. ### 4/5 — Shouldn’t cost money. *2026-08-28, version 3.5.0* App is great but why am I having to pay a yearly subscription to be able to use the features that I paid for when buying the car? Charging history is missing the kWh - shows 0.0 kWh for every charging session, both at home and public. Charging percentage and duration are there and accurate, just missing kWh. How much energy is being used? Please fix. As a bonus, can you provide a way to disable the door lock alerts when parked at home? Don’t need the alerts when it’s parked inside my garage. Also in statistics it tells me stats can’t be displayed because it doesn’t have a month’s worth of data. I’ve been charging for almost two years. ### 1/5 — Digital Key Left Me Standed *2026-08-29, version 3.5.0* This is my first ever review, I’m writing this while I wait for help and here to say avoid using the digital key. I just had an issue where the key stopped working entirely after regular usage and left me stranded. I had to call someone to come get me and bring my physical key. I’m not the first person to experience this too there are others who have had their key randomly stop working and got stranded too. I called roadside assistance and was put on hold for about 20 minutes too. ### 1/5 — Frustration *2026-08-26, version 3.5.0* After a modern BMW I am absolutely frustrated about Lexus digital experience. And of course it’s light years away from Tesla or Rivian. Not even comparing those. So what bugs me with 2026 Lexus GX550 digital system. 1. Digital key is a joke. Every time you want to unlock the car, you have to take out a phone, open the app, and then try to unlock it multiple times. Then to start the car, you have to keep trying many times. Can you just stop trying to control everything and properly integrate with Apple Digital Key? At least you will have better reviews. There is no way I pay for this nonsense after my trial period ends. Shame on you Lexus. 2. I don’t know where to share this, so will do it here. The control system in the car feels like it was made 10 years ago. I switch a driving mode and it takes like 2 seconds for the dashboard to reflect that. When I control the temperature with a know, there is at least 1 second delay to reflect that on the display. No leather and aluminum looking trim can’t save the situation when your digital system is unresponsive or slow. It feels cheap and outdated. Shame on you Lexus. 3. My settings reset after every car turn off. What is this? Why do you think you know better what the car owner wants? You don’t! I paid for this car and I don’t want to change settings or dismiss warnings about these settings every time I drive! Shame on you Lexus. I don’t want to call or talk to anyone. I want to sign up online. I filled the form they sent me and I got verified as a new owner, but it still says press SOS to change ownership when I try to add vehicle. So dumb. I’m deleting the app. ### 1/5 — Tech package is not working *2026-08-23, version 3.5.0* your tech is the worse, I came from a ‘22 Sienna where I didn’t have the problems that I have experienced with this Lexus Tx350, nearly every time I am having setup CarPlay then most of the apps don’t work. Also with my Sienna i had up to 36 presets for my listening pleasure, but not here!!! And it gave me 20 minutes of recording playback when I was listening to Sirius,but again not here, it gives me one song!!! These are the few frustrations, lastly when using the door lock button I have to search for it and there is no sound to let me know that the door is locked or unlocked and the little indicator light is useless, there is just one light.
