A lot of the digital apps for dyslexia specific reading instruction are outdated and can’t hold a kid’s attention. My son liked this app but the Calibration didn’t want to end. We ended it after 30 minutes. Then the app crashed. Also, I’m not sure where the games come in. Like I said, good ideas. For an app that’s meant to help kids with phonics and reading, having upside down e’s and r’s is ridiculous! **Developer response:** Hey there and thanks so much for your review! The "upside down" letters are part of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), and only used to differentiate phonics in the app! But for someone with dyslexia it’s very discouraging. My daughter correctly reads some of the words yet it tells her she hasn’t read any of them. I wondered if it had to do with her lisp so I tried and it said I read 0/6 correctly. It completely froze my phone when I was first setting up the account, and during the calibration quit and there was no way to delete or restart the assignment. When we would hit the speaker to play the sound it would take over a minute for the sound to start playing, or it would play when already on a different section and we didn’t need the sound anymore. At first, I wasn't sure if it was helpful enough to continue using. However, the recent updates have pushed me over the edge...I really like using this! I especially like the new option to choose the level of difficulty, as each patient requires a different level. I am super excited to see what updates the developers have in store for us. This app is great as it’s the only thing I’ve found that isn’t aimed at just younger children and you can do the short tests to see what level you should be playing the games/tests at. So she isn’t losing interest.
