## What is Leyar?

Leyar is an honest gateway to self-discovery. Notice feelings, body sensations, and track your emotions to build awareness of how you feel — all with complete privacy.

This is a tool to help you discover. Writing in your journal by is therapeutic because it slows down the thought process to contemplate, and not just “think” about your feelings but actually *feel* your feelings. If you really start to notice all the micro sensations in your body and can put specific words to it rather than the basic 6, then you don’t need the app any more.

The purpose isn’t to keep people hooked on using the app.

There are only two ways to get to that deeper level. It’s the journey, not a goal. No app or technology is going to get one there. Using this tool is a start.

FEELING - SENSATION - EMOTION TRACKING
Choose from basic feelings to deeply felt emotions and body sensations — then refine with intensity levels and specific emotion
words drawn from the Willcox Feeling Wheel, the body keeps the score, and buddhist philosophy. Log up to three check-ins per day and watch your emotional vocabulary grow over time.

  VOICE JOURNALING
Record voice notes to capture emotional context in the moment. Speech-to-text transcription happens entirely on your device — no audio is
ever sent to a server. Audio files auto-delete after 7 days; transcriptions are kept for your journal.

  CALENDAR & HISTORY
See your emotional landscape at a glance with a color-coded monthly calendar. Tap any day to revisit what you felt, and track your logging
streak to build a consistent awareness habit.

  PATTERN ANALYSIS
Discover which emotions come up most, how your feelings shift by time of day and day of week, and how your patterns evolve over weeks and
  months.

  PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Your emotion entries, voice notes, and transcriptions are stored only on your device using Apple's Core Data. We collect minimal anonymous
analytics (never linked to your identity) to improve the app — nothing more. No third-party ad or tracking SDKs.

  BUILT BY A NON-PROFIT
Leyar is an offering of Mind Lumen, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. There is no paywall, no subscription, and no ads. The app is free because we believe
emotional awareness should be accessible to everyone.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 2 — 2026-05-29

This update brings the body ("The Body Keeps the Score") and buddhist philosophy into the picture because sometimes it's not easy to find the words for emotional states. You can notice basic feelings and notice the sensations in your body.

You can now place your feelings on a body map — tap the regions where you sense an emotion, and the app holds that alongside your words. Alongside that, a new texture layer lets you name the physical quality of what you're feeling: tight, warm, buzzing, heavy.

We've also redesigned the calendar and insights view. Days now show your emotional triad as soft dots, and the timeline displays valence alongside each entry so you can see the full shape of a moment, not just its label.

The idea is to give you tools to use as prompts for hand writing in your journal. Hand writing slows down the thoughts so you become more self-aware

### 1.1 — 2026-02-26

- Minor updates to Intensity screen - When selecting intensity, it stays there until you close
- Go Deeper can be enabled by tapping that option the intensity screen and it will be automatically enabled in the Settings

### 1.0.0 — 2026-02-23

No release notes.
