There's a couple small things I don't like.. when they put a notification when you're trying to learn this song and it's distracting and a little irritating but in general, it's an excellent app. ### 5/5 — Reconnecting to Spanish *2026-03-02* I used to work abroad in Central and South America before the pandemic and was learning Spanish by immersion after a gap in time learning the basics of the language in college, then was laid off during the pandemic and lost that connection to learning Spanish. LyricFluent has provided me with a fun and effective learning experience as I take in lyrics in a focused learning session that is then reinforced as I listen to the artist as I go about my day. I have found it to be far more effective than hopping back into textbooks or using other apps like Duolingo that just force memorization in a more rigid way. ### 3/5 — Great app, small song selection *2026-02-28, version 1.49* The app and the concept are great, but half the songs I look up are not there. I just wish the search functionality was more reliable. Very often it doesn’t retrieve any results even for songs or artists I’ve already studied on the app. The selection of music is also rather limited if you’re not sticking with the most popular global artists. I do like that you can request music to be added! Finally, the speaking lesson could be improved - there are some words in English that I can’t even pass maybe due to a glitch? This app had enough potential for me to give the year subscription a try. I just hope they fix these issues within the next 12 months or else I probably wont renew. ### 5/5 — Fantastic app *2026-02-15* This app is genuinely fantastic. It doesn’t just do simple 1:1 translations - it gives background, flags slang, shows explanations and gives cultural notes when needed. You can pause, rewind, replay… Not only that, but it has multiple ways of “quizzing” yourself, from the basic filling in the blanks with words from the lyrics to more advanced options. By the end you really KNOW a song, and have learned a lot too. That’s ridiculous. It’s understandable for some features to not be available to use for free. When I first got the app I had no problems and completed songs at once but now it isn’t working. Whenever I try to learn a new song it only lets u do the intro to the song and then it makes u pay for a subscription to be able to do the full song. This is just a waste of your time. ### 1/5 — Misleading Subscription Charge *2026-03-13, version 1.49* I saw that this had also happened to other people so I came to give my side of it too. Basically I had been using the app for about a week until it started saying that I would need to sign up for premium in order to learn a full second song. So I went to the subscription section and it showed me an option for a 7-day Free trial. When i clicked on it i suddenly got a charge for a $39.99 year long subscription on my card… Love the app, but not enough get pay (get scammed) for 40 dollar year long subscription ### 1/5 — misleading charge *2026-02-13* When I first downloaded the app, it required me to choose a plan before being able to use any of the features. The main page offered a 7 day free trial and $60/year, so I went to exit out and it popped up with a message basically saying “Wait! What about $30/year?” and I thought that a 7 day free trial + $30/year seemed reasonable, so I accepted, but then realized that I was immediately charged the $30 and got no free trial period. I reached out to the app’s support team via email twice with all of my account information and explaining the situation requesting help with a refund immediately and have not used it since, and I followed up with them again when I never got a response, and I still have not heard back. I think the charge was misleading and I didn’t enjoy the app’s features enough to make it worthwhile for a year’s subscription ### 1/5 — Privacy issue *2026-02-11* This is a great idea for an app but I bailed when I was required to agree to share my recordings from each lesson with Apple. Usually there is an option to opt out of stuff like that. It’s not that I don’t want Apple to hear my butchered attempts at Spanish. My issue is the fact that you are REQUIRED to share in order to use it. No Apple, you are not using my analytics and data to improve your products. You can pay people to participate in that kind of study. We are your customers.
